IIRC the entire set being moved to North Sydney, with a few modifications to incorporate the Today soft set/ACA set area, was the reason that the news came from the old Today set in the final month(-ish?) at the original Willoughby studios.

After the rates annoucement Chris Kohler didn’t seem to realise he was still on camera and spend the time looking at his phone while the others were talking. He only looked up when asked a question by Peter. Effie Zahos was sitting next to Peter Overton but this wasn’t shown.

What a stupid opener to the 4pm bulletin.. Borrowers “warned they are on borrowed time” re: interest rates on hold. Ffs. Not negative enough, they’ve now turned it around to cost of living and property.

Another win for Nine News Adelaide last night with 96,000 to just beat Seven’s bulletin with 95,000. That’s 2 wins this week and the third weekday win of the year.

9 News bleeting tonight about how tough it’s been for the CBA since the federal budget, despite posting an $11Billion - billion!!- profit! Spare me!
If you’re really worried about them and a downturn in new home loans, how about we encourage people like the bank CEOs on their million dollar bonuses, or greedy landlords, or the wealthy, to rein in their spending on holidays, property, new cars, travel and other luxuries. That’s who’s driving inflation… not the poor mortgage holder who is struggling to make ends meet.

Nine TV staff raise Future News concerns with management

Nine-owned the Australian Financial Review reports a group of Media Entertainment & Arts Alliance members have penned a letter to management alongside the union, outlining their concerns and queries about the slated job cuts.
A Nine spokesman said the company will be “engaging with [the staff who sent the letter] to discuss any concerns” about the Future News changes, which were “the biggest investment by Nine in news and current affairs in decades”. They already consulted employees more broadly for four weeks after the redundancies were announced.

Nine News Melbourne’s CBD skyline back-drop tonight looked very fuzzy and not sharp. Is this the normal resolution? The studio camera and Loxley looked completely fine however in front of that.
It was appalling that night @Sully Zoomed in so far that it wasn’t just blurry. It looked like there was an earthquake going on it was so jumpy. Totally distracting and stupid.

According to The Australian’s Media Diary, Amy McCarthy is now in contention for a second shot at a senior management role after being short-listed as the favourite to replace Gareth Parker as Nine’s national news content director, overseeing the broadcaster’s Canberra bureau and “finance, health, tech and major events” coverage.

Another win for Nine News in Adelaide on Tuesday. The bulletin had its highest weekday rating since the start of the new ratings system over 2.5 years ago with 111,000 ahead of Seven News that had 108,000.

Nine has bar far a better produced product, in terms of the pace and the presentation. The only thing they lack is the experience of the reporters at 7- some of which have almost been household names of years, if not decades.

9 afternoons news in Melbourne just did this long cross to Craig Foster to talk about the premier league. There was no video of the people or teams they were talking about. Can’t imagine how a Grandma in Geelong would have had any idea what that were talking about. Very lazy tv. And obviously an ad for Stan.
