Finally.
I think they should keep the skyline up- this is way too dark.

In the past TV had a big problem with lack of skill depth across the whole workforce - Journos that couldnât edit, editors that couldnât use a ENG camera, directors that couldnât drive a video switcher etc. Generally the more narrow the persons skill set the more bluster and bravado you got from them. Hopefully all those people have moved on by now. Anyone who wasnât keen on learning skills like AI and Online would need to be past retiring age - they have bleak prospects anywhere in Media now
Gold Coast news bulletin was a live broadcast from The Star in Broadbeach tonight for the bulletins 30th anniversary celebration event. Both Eva and Paul co-anchoring together, while Sports presenter Bronte Gildea was live at CBus Super Stadium.
Also featured another segment doing a brief look back at 30 years of the history of the bulletin, and speaking to a couple of the viewers in attendance at the event.
Great to see 9 still doing a news bulletin from the Gold Coast when everyone else has left.
In the early-80âs UHF TV translators were installed at Mt Tamborine to cover black spots, particularly in the foothills of Mt Tamborine. About that time QTQ9 and BTQ7 decided they each needed a Journo and Camo on the GC. To facilitate this they also needed a way of getting footage back to Mt Coot-tha.: The fix was a 2GHz microwave link on the top of a high building and an a/v connection box in the carpark for the Camo to plug his Betacam into and then feed material back to Mt Coot-tha for editing and broadcast. Initially the Camo just played the raw footage back into the a/v box from the deck in the Betacam. Each eventually expanded from there to a full news bureau and even a presentation studio.
From memory 7 had their link on top of the Imperial Surf building and 9 had theirs at the Golden Gate. Back then nobody envisaged a stand alone bureau would ever be needed. At least 9 have ongoing commitment to the GC all these years later.
Itâs what Big Hedge wants you to think in their war on fences.
Well technically the others are still there, just on a smaller scale. Seven doesnât have a local news anymore (after 2 attempts) but they still have a bureau. Same with 10, ABC (shared with radio) and News24 (formally Sky News). TVQ also had a reporter and cammo in the early 80s.
The tech wouldnât change between presenters.
Why canât Sydney use the technology first instead waiting for nationwide
The morning news is coming from Sydney, they are using it first.
Is that a bit of PAPER I see a top the FUTURE news desk during a FUTURE NEWS BULLETIN in the PRESENT?
Did they forget to charge the iPad?
Nine News Adelaide had its highest rating since May 2023 last night of 124,000. That was 13,000 ahead of Seven News that was a 50 minute bulletin leading into AFL.
Sydney is the flagship it makes more sense for any new technology to go out to other bulletins first to iron out any issues and then it would come to Sydney towards the end of the implementation.
Thatâs also what happened when the current âvideo wallâ sets were rolled out.. I think Sydney was the last to get that?
And also with the MPEG-4 roll out, Sydney still the only metro station yet to get that.
In the initial rollout, Sydney was 2nd after Perth - Melbourne followed Sydney, then Adelaide, and finally Brisbane. Should be noted however that Perth moved into a brand new facility
Sydney then either got a new set, or the same set moved and refreshed, when they shifted to North Sydney
Are these new graphics ?
