No one is disputing that, but also can’t dispute he’s very wooden.

Tom seems fine from all accounts, and I think people just don’t like the idea of him more than him as a presenter.

Interesting all the negative commentary on Tom. IMO, he is doing a great job. Do we extend the same criticism to say…Rick Ardon - is he necessary?. Very wooden presentation style. What about Will Goodings? Ch 7 Adelaide went solo with Jane Doyle when John Riddell retired, but have returned to a dual presenter role. With current ratings after a couple of weeks, I’d say people are turned off on him at all…

7News Adelaide has actually increased it’s ratings since Jane retired.

Very wooden presentation style.

Jokes aside, while people are entitled to their opinions, I’ve always felt Rick’s presenting style has been quite expressive and genuine, and that is reflected in the On-Air chemistry he shares with Sue. Would definitely be a factor for their longevity in the industry.

Regarding Tom and Alicia, it’s early days so I’m sure their style will become more rounded and solid over time.

Melbournes ratings increased prior to the double header. I think there is a bigger picture at play in Melbourne. Seven seems to be loosing all time slot there at the moment.

Why does the Gold Coast intro need to say “live from 50 Cavill Avenue, Surfers Paradise. This is Nine Gold Coast News?”

The intro shouldn’t be saying the address. Should just simply be like the metro bulletins, “this is Nine’s Gold Coast News.”

We all have our own opinions. I watch Nine News Melbourne as I like their presenting team. I don’t like that they’ve zoomed in on the Melbourne skyline. It looks shit now. But I’m not going to switch to Seven just because they zoomed in on the Melbourne skyline.
