Video of the updates. The audio is just as sensationalist with the task of catching the big Hot Seat audience that is tuned in and keep them watching for the news.
Note that these updates are not shown during the Nine Gold Coast News - they get a more usual type of update but tailored to the Gold Coast.

You have to also consider the competition. Anything one bulletin does, it’s not long before you see a version pop up on the other. I suppose the Seven version doesn’t have an exclamation point

Of course who could remember “Seven News starts now” at the start of the Sydney and Brisbane bulletins in 2014/15?
After their spectacular failures, both bulletins returned to a standard opener by either the second half of 2015 or the start of 2016 (can’t remember exactly when).
