A bit of a follow up about something I hadn’t heard clarified in the media until tonight. 7 News mentioned that the leader of the ‘Voice for Victims’, who has been platformed by the media as a spokesperson for the public, is an LNP member. How shocking…

Not surprising at all, also I agree that it could be an anti-government protest, either by accident or on purpose.

More recently there was a poster held up by one person reading ‘Labor is the crime’. Nine have seem to have slightly ‘loosened’ their sensationalist reporting on the crime wave. Very much still a one-sided stance.

Also, their ‘Fighting For Queensland’ promos still air, but IMO are misleading. Are they helping or fighting for anything when a lot of their top stories are either Teen crime, global events, or (most of the time) Infotainment style stories.

Their bulletins reek of sensationalism, and have been since as long as I can remember. I also expect for more of their signature sensationalist rubbish on Monday, as another ‘Voice To Victims’ rally will be held in Brisbane tomorrow morning. More fodder for the cannon I suppose.

Nine News Brisbane trying a new way to get viewers - renovations - “better than The Block”!

This is truly horrific and not news, or worthy of a promo. What a joke 9 News Brisbane is.

Fixed it. More like an infotainment program than anything else.

Agreed that this is nowhere near as newsworthy, but it sure beats the ‘city under siege, we stand with random FB group’ style promos about the Teen Crime wave.

That looks quite normal for an expensive beach house, nowhere near ‘as spectacular than The Block!’

7 Melb still has ‘starts now’

Wow. I doubt 9 would call him out on this considering their heavy involvement in that group and its actions. What a joke of a ‘news’ service.

Absolutely correct - in the past I would have rated QTQ9 news better than BTQ7, not anymore. QTQ run promo’s for advertorials then do a 30 sec spot for the advertorial client in the next break. How much integration can they actually sell??

The other night they had a story talking about Nazi/anti-semitism and the video showed a graffitied Star of David. Either the journo or editor didn’t know the difference between a swasticker and a Star of David.

Then a couple of nights ago they are doing piece on the yet to happen Pinkenba detention centre and they show footage of the privately owned Wellcamp detention centre near Toowoomba. This stuff is amateur hour, particularly the graffiti Star of David.

Thank God the TCN news in the morning is a better product than QTQ.

Rare that Nine was the only commercial channel to have live coverage of the interest rate announcement

Sorry to Charlie for the atrocious screengrab but china is not 15 hours behind us.

I’m not sure if anyone else has noticed but Nine’s National Morning News is just a mess. There’s no dedicated blocks anymore it’s just all mashed in together which I’m not a fan of - looks quite sloppy.

Compare it back to pre-Covid 2020 days. The format was much smoother.

Morning news used to have 1st & 2nd block News, 3rd block Sports, 4th block Weather & Finance.

I think also the lack of a sports presenter doesn’t do the bulletin justice.

Anyway if you compare it to Seven’s product, Seven morning news is much more watchable.

Seven’s Early News does this too and I’m not a fan either. I’d assume the sport segment doesn’t retain an audience.

I feel like there’s just no effort in their product as much as there used to be. Even the Sydney afternoon news is just full of interviews half the time which would suit more to Today Extra.

I mean the bulletin runs for 5 minutes before the first commercial break.

People are also questioning GTV I see too. Just Nine is not up to the mark like they used to be.

Yet its Sydney news remains strong in the ratings due to the strong product led by Peter Overton, while Queenslanders appear to be more than interested in some of its tabloid reporting style and some rather questionable feature stories such as the recent one on a house that was claimed to be better than as seen on “The Block”.

Sydney has always been a Nine stronghold, as evidenced when viewers slowly but surely made the switch back after Roscoe retired from the Seven News desk in 2009, before which Hendo was must-watch viewing on Nine at 6:00 every weeknight.
