Should it be “First for” not “First on” breaking news?
Likewise 7’s “Best on” big stories/ footy/ whatever ??
She’s rather good, but she’ll give herself an injury with those quick neck snaps between stories.
June 1st 2009 was when Nine News Sydney first got their current/outgoing set (and there’s been some evolutionary tweaks along the way), but they’ve pretty much always had rather basic news sets and have generally stuck to them for longer than some of the other networks in Sydney.
I know there was a desk change or two during the 2004-09 era, but I think the previous chroma keyed set for Nine’s Sydney news was introduced in the later part of 2004 (along with a liveshot of Sydney, yes Nine were actually ahead of Seven with one here in Sydney) when the graphics were tweaked slightly? And before that, sets largely consisting of blue backdrops with a stripy globe background were used for many years.
Well I guess Nine’s consistency earned the network the No.1 Position in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane (all of which has virtually the same studio set), unlike Seven who changes the studio set in Sydney no less than 3 times in the past 5 years.
The Perth curtain has been open during the morning news this week.
Morning News? Did they reinstate the local bulletin?
I assume he’s referring to Today Perth News.
Nine News Brisbane last night did a more relaxed news update during Hot Seat at 5:55pm with Melissa and Andrew bantering and standing in front of the set with cameras. @TV.Cynic might have a video, if not I am hoping they do it again tonight as I didn’t mind it (not to be used for Nine News Sydney/Melbourne bulletins).
But on that note, can Nine PLEASE stop with those “First on Breaking News” etc titlecards. They are so sensationalist and tabliod and were used at least 4 times in last night’s bulletin.
Nine News Perth is now promoting HD

Certainly a point of difference from 7 news!
I would love to see that of anyone has grabs
Nice promo however one thing I have to criticize is that they could’ve used their current logo
Good to see that Nine News Perth is promoting their point of difference, but IMO the promo would’ve been even better if they used their current style logo (rather than the 2008-09 style one) at the start, perhaps with a HD addition on the side like the Nine HD logo.
Yes, I think it’s a well known fact that Nine News Perth upgraded to HD when they had their relaunch for the move into new studios.
I think Seven News Perth might be in a similar situation to Seven News Sydney with only live studio & graphics in HD with the rest in SD?
I wonder how long it will take for a media outlet to point out how deceptive it is to use a liveshot of Adelaide when the bulletin is actually being presented by Amelia Adams in Sydney?
Is it not a live bulletin into Adelaide? Not that deceptive really, just being presented from another state due to the blackouts - nothing out of the ordinary imo.
Given the circumstances and the fact that it would probably never happen again, I don’t think it’s a big issue.
Seven and Ten in Sydney probably don’t have the facilities to do two concurrent live news programs. It’s good that Nine in Sydney is able to do the Adelaide news in an emergency situation.
