The size of that TV has now been justified
Sorry but Bruce & Wendy have absolutely no chemistry together and she is often left looking uninspired or bored. There are so many average elements to that bulletin, plus today’s addition is just tacky.
7 Gold Coast News is such a slick operation competitively to that, viewers may just make the switch.
Still find it funny how’s the a TV in front of a wall of TV’s
Yeah that’s weird, oddly it looks alright though.
I wish they had given their logo an update as part of that new package though, new texture or font for news. Something!
The cap of @Abesty looks like the same ones from 2012!
At least there is a similar element to the Gold Coast bulletin- weather at an ugly TV.
Just realised they no longer use “Welcome to Nine News” at the beginning of the opener anymore
Everything is just so modern and sleek! Really didn’t expect Nine to invest so much into their struggling Perth news service.
They had to do something so its no longer a struggling new bulletin
I’m all for straight news presentation but this bulletin is so boring!!! Who decided to kick off at the new studios with a political story that was all just politics and talking heads? The reporters have no life to them, its just a series of talking heads.
The quality of the background shot is pretty bad.
It looks to be due to the size of the screen and the distance between it and the camera
It’s a pretty serious story, as the whole leadership for WA could change significantly by tomorrow. Colin Barnett has been in power for quite a while here, so it makes sense it’s the first story.
So it would appear they are changing all the wrong elements of their bulletin if their aim is to win over the viewers, completely bypassing the actual issue.
Nine seems to lack the ability to poach senior reporters from the other networks - WIN dumped them all some years ago.
Nine do need to build their senior reporter base, especially in Melbourne. In Perth, Nine need to poach Angela Tsun back if they want any chance against Seven News, I hear she is the candidate for Sue’s anchor chair.
Wow! Stunning!
I absolutely love that set, it’s magnificent!
I actually really like the way they’ve done the OTS shots.
I’m really glad they’ve removed the “.com.au” from their watermark and kept with a simple 9 News one.
I really like the city shot when it’s shown in long shots, but it looks a little off in the closer up shots.
The icons in the weather are terrible.
But overall, I’m really excited for when these evolutions reach the east coast.
Faark. Beautiful.
It’s insane that we have this over in Perth, it’s better than anything out East.
Whilst I agree with everyone on the set, and it Is really well done…
BUT
I am a little underwhelmed by the opener, supers, weather graphics and the theme music.
They aren’t really much different to what we had before.
Maybe they are saving those changes for next year.
