I think to say that this relaunch is only Perth specific for the news is a possibility. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the East Caost and Adelaide get the same style package with different elements.
It would be odd for Perth to be different to the rest of the country. In saying that though, the west always has had different news elements to the East in the past

Call me old fashioned (or a fanboy idk) but Ten’s news graphics still are on top for me- even with the almost 3 year old openers. The recent super update was quite unique and it propelled it into the current landscape.
Can’t say the same for Nine’s white boxes!

Love the new opener. Not sure how I feel about the supers. Certainly not horrible but I hate how the 9 news logo part is lower than the actual main part… Wish 9 would move away from white 
True, but don’t forget, for example, Today Perth News had different graphics than the national version right up until this date. However, I agree the new graphics will be introduced with the new set.
Of course, I believe they will be similar. But the minor errors that we have noticed, such as graphics not lining up, I believe will be fixed by TCN. And, just perhaps with enough complaints, they might make a few adjustments…
How odd.
I’m quite sure there is something behind why only Perth got the new graphics. I think some of it could be virtual aswell like the OTS and even the full screen graphics.

I agree. Look at the refresh that Nine Gold Coast News got in July, none of those elements have (nor likely will, since it seems that Nine News Perth is going in a different direction with their On-Air Presentation) made it to any of the other bulletins.
I’m sure Nine are well and truly aware they have to be extremely careful with the rollout of a new look for their news service on a national basis and in particular, for the ratings leading/competitive 6pm bulletins in the major East Coast markets…

In that case they could be trying out this new look on Perth and if it leads to a ratings increase, then a rollout through the rest of the country?
Unfortunately that is how the graphics are broadcast - looks odd especially with the overlay not lining up. (caps from 9HD).

From what I’ve watched so far, it is very very sleek! And I am usually a 7 News watcher whenever I watch TV News.
