It was his (Thommo’s) last sport read from Dianella, Shaun McManus reads weekend sport in Perth.
I’m guessing there was no look back at the old studio or even the new studio at the end of tonight’s news then?
Tonight was the last Nine News Perth from Dianella (at least for the weekday bulletins anyway) and Monday night’s bulletin will be the first from the new set.
It’s quite possible that Perth’s weekend news will either be presented…
*1: Interstate.
*2: From a plasma/small set that doesn’t really give anything away, like how Nine Adelaide’s first few bulletins (when they moved to new studios last year) were presented from a plasma.
I personally think that the latter is more likely than the former though. Not sure whether all markets or just Perth will get a new look on Monday but for the little it’s worth, there was certainly nothing different or unusual about the presentation of Nine News Sydney tonight.
I was expecting the same thing, but they did mention many times it being the last in the studios. They signed off saying that’s the last Nine News in this studio, but they’ll be back in their new headquarters on Monday, so at least it was mentioned, unlike during Seven Perth’s move last year, with no mention on the last Sunday night bulletin.
Hmm well that’s a shame. I remember when Nine Adelaide moved last year they had a report on the move, and then right at the end of the bulletin Kate Collins, Brenton Ragless and Virginia Langeberg were all standing in front of the desk and said farewell to the studio.
The last news bulletin is coming from Dianella. The new studio is a ground up build no need for any of the Dianella equipment.
They may have been mentioned at the beginning, but I only tuned in during the last half hour.
Ah fair enough then
The old TVW and STW studios are turned into housing developments
Yep. Seven Hills is the name of Seven’s former block, with Street names related to Seven personalities and other history and other nods of TVW-7’s history to be present around the area. Maybe we might get Rick Ardon Road
The logo is even reminiscent of TVW-7’s old test pattern:
And then there were one. Ten (NEW-10) is the last station to go in late 2016 or Early 2017.
Jane Bunn lane anyone?
Sussanah Carr Drive?
There is a Seven Hills in Sydney though.
Nothing to do with ATN-7 though.
There’s only actually two new roads there, I think they’re called Broadcast Drive and Televise Road or something similar. Pretty bland, not named after any people. The roads have been open for about 6 months, most of the land is already sold!
I was going to mention that after double-checking on the Seven Hills Perth website, but you beat me to it . There is is also Osbourne Road. The reason why I said that is because during a TodayTonight report of the move from Dianella to Osbourne Park, one of the representatives said about the idea of naming streets after Seven personalities. The Interviewer said to him what about Rick Ardon Road or Susannah Carr Crescent, and the interviewee that’s a strong possibility, through things change over time.
Going back to the topic of Nine Perth’s move to St George’s Terrace, I think I heard the studios front may be open to the public like how it is with Seven in Martin Place with Sunrise and Seven News. Can someone confirm this, or correct me if wrong?
It meant to be correct that you can see the studio from the window outside. No idea however if they will close the curtains when they broadcast… guess we find out Monday!
I’ll see if i can record Tonights & Tomorrows bulletin. I wont have interruptions via VAST.
Well DAMN
9 News Perth’s new set looks STUNNING - and yes, I think that is by far the best news set we have ever seen in Oz
