Facebook hopes people will. They have done deals with Nine, Seven, Ten, SBS, Sky News, Junkee and Pedestrian for news of various sorts to be put on Facebook Watch. Link to article above.

you are kidding right? 15 million Australians turn to FB for news. 9 News has 2 million follows. Some clips get upwards of 100,000 views and online news video is exploding whilst FTA viewing is declining.
Yet 9 News should not be developing here?

Would you watch a full news bulletin via Facebook, though?
I occasionally watch news clips of interest but I wouldn’t watch a full bulletin.

When you are on FB and follow a page with a FB Watch broadcast you get a pop up alert that a live FB Watch broadcast is about to begin - and the video pops up in a small box as you continue to use FB.
So if I was on my home iPad laptop or desktop at 8pm and an alit popped up - sure yes - I would watch it as I continue to do other things yes, I have and I do.
Do I watch a full bulletin? No. And I don’t On TV either.
This is about trying to be everywhere that viewers are - and millions of Aussies are on FB at any time.
Also about getting ad dollars from FB
