How many networks are adding to the standard BOM data?
Given the amount of time given to weather segments its not really worth it

Could you expand on this? Why isnât he a journalist?
Cause he didnât study journalism?
Think youâll find many âjournalistsâ who have been in the industry 20+ years likely didnât study to be a âjournalistâ. It really is only a new trend for people to complete these degrees in mass. Most have come through the ranks of news organisations to get where they are today.
It doesnât take three years of sitting down and studying to know how to analyse and tell a story.
At least their is some kind of an argument for being a qualified meteorologist. It is a study of science.
Heâs pre journalists having a degree, but I donât believe he did a cadetship as a reporter. Heâs a presenter, just like Naylor, B. Henderson, Mansfield, McIntosh, Raymond and countless others. Doesnât diminish his credibility at all.
From my observations in recent times, Seven News Sydney (not sure about other markets) are adding non-BoM standard data with forecasts for locations which Iâve not seen mentioned on any other network or even by the Bureau themselves on their website, etc.
This is good. Iâll be recording for the vault. Will be great to see HD footage of previous news events if the promo suggests. Hereâs hoping we also see archived footage of old news appearance from the early 2000s.
Watching Nine news and promos last week I thought my TV was faulty and losing focus
Lucky this was watermarked!
It spread to Seven
Resulted in some very strange effects
Watermarking such a blurred photo is absolutely ridiculous.
Nine has lost the plot here.
Unfortunately there wasnât much content in this weekâs news special for the news junkie. Much of the content was stock vision of events that had occurred during Robert Penfoldâs career with a few identifiable Nine News segments plus interviews with Nine personalities.
Itâs now on 9Now.

I like the simplicity of those supers. Obviously, it works better against the dark backdrop than over the vision, though.
What do we think this console that is to the left of Peter Overton is?
It appeared in view just after the opener of Nine News tonight.
Just a small table/storage unit for water, tissues, make up etc. Every city has them and have done since the new sets rolled out, often visible in wide shots.
Nine News Melbourne using the video wall behind where the weather screen usually is (I assume itâs that side anyway) usually when Melbourne does this type of thing, they just use the main screen, IMO thatâs better cause it doesnât have distracting lines
I think youâll find that it is actually the Sydney set, which is where Ross Greenwood is based.
To add to this, Melbourne doesnât have a videowall behind the screen. Itâs just a lightbox
Yes. Sydney and Perth are the only ones with video walls on the RHS of the set.
