Promo aired in Brisbane tonight regarding the 10 year anniversary of the news team.
Its probably a term their research has found prompts people to set an appointment. “From” can be a little variable but “starts” sets the time (just guessing)
Melbourne broke into programming to air the Carlton Football Club press conference on the Brendon Bolton sacking
I’m guessing this was from Nine News Queensland?
If so, and if their ratings continue to deteriorate, Amanda Patterson is the first person who should have their role reviewed. So many personnel have left QTQ in recent years, because they were not happy with the direction that the bulletin was heading, from what I have heard.
Apparently the wrong newsbreak went to air in Sydney tonight… one with Pete tongue twisted saying “Trump has touched down in England” with him mocking himself afterwards.
Are the Gold Coast evening updates normally presented out of Brisbane?
I always assumed that Bruce or someone local did them prerecorded.
Not sure but I don’t think there would be a control room available for a report to be recorded on the Gold Coast until the end of the Brisbane news.
Yep, They always have been
As seen here:
I know he’s been at Disneyland to cover the launch of that Star Wars attraction but where’s this week’s quirky (and blue-eyed) coverage of the lead-up to State of Origin: Game 1 from Dalts, Nine?
Fingers crossed that he’s on-board to at least cover Games 2 & 3 but more importantly, the Gold Telethon on Monday!
Dalts currently reporting from Brisbane for Nine’s Sydney afternoon news in his usual inimitable style. My mother will be happy. She loves Dalts.
Why does Nine Melbourne use a fake “live” backdrop at 4pm?
I’m staying at Southbank and as you can see in the photo below it’s cloudy outside when Nine tries to convince us otherwise.
Your mother and @SydneyCityTV have a similar interest.
Ahh yes…
Haha!
It is really good to see that Nine have their priorities in order with at least game night coverage from Dalts. As I’m sure most will agree, his reports are some of the very few which are actually enjoyable to watch on our news bulletins at the moment!
Yes, he is never dull.
Tough night on Nine News Queensland tonight.
During the Origin live crosses and preview. Alex Heinke attempted to throw to Ben Dobbin, but the feed instead switched to Mike Dalton who didn’t realise he was on-air, and was talking off-air to his cameraman and a director. The camera shot also was of the ground.
It remained like that for a good 10 to 15 seconds, with Alex not saying anything but pretending nothing was wrong, before it switched to Adam Jackson who started his cross.
Later in the bulletin, the microphones not working properly during Sport made it hard for Wally Lewis and Johnathan Thurston to be heard. It was picking up too much background noise that mostly drowned them out. After the first story, Melissa had to present the rest of the sports segment in the studio.
Also of note - Melissa Downes and reporter Adam Jackson ad-libbed (I say that, as it sounded like she hadn’t prepared her questions) in a 5 minute or so segment of the Maroons team bus leaving the hotel, followed by chopper shots of it being tracked on its journey to the stadium.

Cringe.
