Totally agree.
I knew they had to be doing something to them, and it looks like they did.
It’s really starting to coming along now.
Just need to update the frame behind the anchors (and hopefully with a proper TV/videowall - although I doubt they will).
The facilities are there for a live cam, never gets used though.

Can anyone tell me why the gold coast always has “Starts 5.30pm”. To me, that reads like it premieres at 5.30pm for the first time…

I would change it to from 5.30 or somethimg then…
Maybe “Coming Up at 5:30”. I think Adelaide uses “Coming Up at…”

Yeah. “Starts” just feels wrong. Like it should be a new programme IMO.

It looks awkward with Bruce standing up and leaning on the desk (in that first cap).
Either stand up straight or sit down.
Sydney uses “Starts” too in it’s news updates during “Hot Seat”.
But yeah, it does look odd and “Coming Up” or “Next” works better for me.

They used to have a live shot in the old studio. I think it has more to do with limited funds to purchase a plasma of that size than them not wanting to.
It creates urgency. Like how Seven uses a countdown clock and used to say “7 News starts now” in the opener.
