Nine News Content and Appearance (2015-Sept 2020)

To be truthful, the current Nine News Melbourne set was actually new for those studios. But of course the design of it is identical to the former Richmond studios set which Darwin now uses.

Mind you I’m not quite sure whether it would be that more expensive to build a new set for the new studios vs bringing the old one over, especially after a brand new control room, cameras, etc (things which I’d imagine do actually cost more and will be used for longer than any news set) have been purchased.

I remember seeing on the old forum a video tour of the new Adelaide news room - I think it may have been part of Nine News Now on the first day in the Studios and features a reporter giving a tour of the newsroom - I thought I had saved it but can’t seem to find it. Does anyone know where I might be able to find it?

Brilliant - that’s the one. Many thanks!

Looks like Nine’s Perth 5pm bulletin most likely wont be airing this week despite being in the local Perth TV Guide.

How come? What are they airing instead?

A brand news look for Nine News is coming. And it’s the works.

A refreshingly watermark and logo-free Nine News live stream on Facebook.

I’m guessing it would have been impossible (if not really difficult) to get the set from Bendigo Street into the Docklands building

A national refresh of Nine News in the works. Current graphics have been used since January 2014.

ETA?

To be more exact…

*The current Nine Gold Coast News set and refreshed titlecard graphics has been used since July 11.
*The current version of the national news set (with the actual TCN news exchange as the backdrop) in Studio 3 at TCN has been used since January 25.
*The current itineration of the “HD” supers (with a bit more transparency and gloss on the “dotted globe” graphic) dates back to late 2015 and rolled out to the Adelaide, Sydney, national and Melbourne bulletins in that order.
*The current itineration of the Adelaide/Perth news sets dates back to Early 2014, I think the updates happened after the January 27 minor graphics update.
*The previous itineration of the supers (which are only slightly different to the current ones) were launched with the partial graphics update on January 27 2014, the supers and watermark was tweaked slightly in July 2014 (around the time of the MH17 disaster) to coincide with the launch of 9News.com.au and the promotional campaign for it. The Brisbane, Gold Coast, Perth & Darwin bulletins still use the “July 2014” supers.
*The current titlecard and transition graphics are part of the January 2012 graphics relaunch package and have been used since 16/1/2012.
*The current design of the East Coast local news sets dates back to 2009. Rolled out to Sydney (June 1), Melbourne (August 24, now in Darwin where’s it’s been used since sometime in 2011), Brisbane (October 12) and Melbourne again for the move to the Docklands studios (March 1, 2011).
*The current version of the theme music dates back to 2008, first used on January 14 along with the revived/updated dotted logo but used by mistake during the Opener of National Nine Morning News on 11/1/2008.

A new set for the 6pm News? @Read_It_First, so does that mean Nine News Perth will get a new set in the new studio?

Drat, y’all better have caps up for me, I won’t be able to see it :frowning:

Does anybody know if this desk from one of the news specials after the Paris attacks last November is regularly used for anything? Or does anybody have any caps/video from this special? I’m sure it would have been mentioned on the old forum.

Am trying to mock up a new set based around this desk but struggling to figure out exactly how the shape works.

That was the ACA desk from last year.

Ah yes, thank you!

ACA was my first thought but I didn’t check a recent enough video on Youtube (three different desks in the space of six months, it’s easy to forget!).
