Nine News Content and Appearance (2015-Sept 2020)

Wonder if tonight Perth will get the slight tweaks.

I agree. I think Hitchener is going to love it. He seems to be the tech savvy type as he is active on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!

The colours are certainly stronger in the Perth set.

Don’t hold your breath. Expect the new set closer to the launch of the regional news in VIC. Tomorrow is set to be a no-go. :disappointed:

Confirmed???

What may (or not???) be the final use of the Melbourne set:

Can see only a small change here between Sydney and Perth. Look on the far left where the screen meets the videowall on the left.

The colour used at the front of the desk is different too. Perth uses red, while Sydney uses white, only using red for breaking news events. IMO, white looks better for normal use.

As per pics earlier in this thread Melbourne appears to have the same thing.

I wonder if we’ll see an update anytime soon for national bulletins (presented from Sydney). Desk fits well but would be good to see the dotted boards in the background updated. I don’t expect it to happen anytime soon though… 9 news is certainly leading the way now in terms of content, presentation and most certainly appearance!!

Dotted backgrounds were just updated, maybe only a year ago. I wouldn’t expect anything to change in studio 23.

QTQ and NWS will both receive the new set!

Any idea when NWS9 will get the new set? The current set is fairly old as it was the same one from Tynte Street.

And for what it’s worth, a cap of the new Opening Headline graphic that Sydney is using as of tonight:

Brisbane also desperately needs a new weekend newsreader/s.

So nice to finally see a network rolling out world class sets out in Australia. Amazing how far things have come in 10 years.

The current Adelaide set was introduced in early 2014, so it’s about time for a change. Though we did better than the other metro bulletins that have had their current sets (Adelaide’s previous set) since 2009-2010.

Key is having someone good and keeping them there long term. I’m seeing a lot of networks throwing all sorts of people in front of the news desk, it’s a bit of a lottery who we see each week more so in Brisbane.

I grew up with Jennifer Keyte reading news on weekends in Melbourne and she is still there to this day. The likes of Georgie Gardener and even Alicia Loxley they have been there for 10+ years and the ratings reflect the strong viewer interaction.

I’m all for these work experience kids getting a shot but can we just pick one and stick with them?

Perth still using the original Headline opening graphic.
