@SydneyCityTV I believe that Nine Afternoon News extended for NSW viewers this afternoon for special coverage of the bushfire emergency.

To 99.99999% of viewers, it’s JUST a new set. To the other 0.00001% (who live on Planet Media Spy) its like Christmas

Promoting set changes on air seems to be done for morning TV (sunrise & Today and Today in Perth) with tours and time-lapse and backstage tours - but for 6pm “Serious” news bulletins it always seems to go by unmentioned - am I not right?

Even on night 1 of Nine’s new Perth set at 6pm - I don’t think they mentioned it?

I think they did a story on the station moving to brand new HQ - but I’ve never seen a station make fanfare of a new set install at 6?

9 News broke into normal programming this morning at approx. 9:15am to announce the resignation of NSW Premier Mike Baird. Rolling coverage fronted by Davina Smith along with political reporter Chris O’Keefe

UPDATE: Today Extra has now resumed but will be interrupted at around 10am due to a press conference by the outgoing Premier

Not as bad as some of SCA’s talent, but they certainly are terrible. I normally watch 9 News during the week, but will watch anything else on the weekend as I can’t stand them!
