I don’t understand why nine just don’t air The Footy show at 7:30 and get a head start on The Front Bar.

The AFL Footy Show Grand Final edition will start at 7.30pm. It is mentioned in an ad in today’s Sunday Herald Sun for a reader competition to win tickets to the event.

Obviously the NRL version of the show couldn’t do this all year round due to Thursday night games but I personally think they’d also greatly benefit from a 7.30pm start for the Grand Final edition, particularly if Nine wants ratings high enough to (by some miracle) justify a renewal of the show for 2019.
Yeah I understood why they couldn’t for the NRL edition but the AFL edition clearly could have. Seven wouldn’t be able to put Front Bar earlier due to Home and Away. I think it was a missed opportunity.

Jessica Marais has quit upcoming Nine drama Bad Mothers and is taking a break from acting for the rest of 2018.
Small tidbit
Nine has been showing new episodes of Kevin Can Wait in random slots such as weekdays at 1:30pm. About 6 episodes of the new season have already aired.

Says a lot about their intentions for the show, when a movie otherwise runs there.
Since Kevin Can Wait started 5 weeks ago (first week was Wed/Thu then Wed after that), Nine have only aired a 1pm movie on Fridays.
Another sneaky one like Kevin Can Wait - 9GO is airing the 25th season of Top Gear on 9GO. The second of 6 episodes aired today.
Nine not doing a good job with their US imports - Chicago Med and Lethal Weapon have completed seasons not aired.
Nine have aired two seasons of Chicago Med with a full 20 episode third season unaired. The fourth seasons starts in 9 days time in America.
Lethal Weapon has a full 22 episode second season in the can with a third season starting in 8 days in America.
Still waiting for Nine to air the final season of Major Crimes.
A new season of Lip Sync Battle is available
Westside has a whole fourth season available

Promos for Major Crimes have been running the last few weeks. It must be about to start airing very soon.
