Nine Network - Programs and Schedules

###Planet Earth II

Premieres Wednesday 15 February 1 at 7.30pm

A decade after the original series, the extraordinary sequel to Sir David Attenborough’s Planet Earth is coming to Nine in high definition when Planet Earth II premieres on Wednesday, February 15, at 7.30pm.

The opening episode of Planet Earth II was the most watched natural history program in the UK for more than 15 years. Narrated by Sir David and produced by the BBC’s Natural History Unit, this phenomenal program uses the latest in filming technology to reveal the natural world from amazing new perspectives.

Stabilisation techniques have freed up the cameras to directly follow in the animals’ footsteps – experiencing the world up close and very personal through the use of drones, incredible 4K resolution cameras and ultra-high-quality, new-generation camera traps.

Exploring islands, mountains, jungles, deserts, grasslands and cities all around the globe, this breathtaking series brings viewers many firsts all captured on film - including snow leopards hunting, fighting and mating; bobcats stalking their prey during the North American winter; Brazilian railroad worms; millipedes; and even catfish hunting pigeons, plus much more.

Planet Earth II has been in production for over three years across 40 countries. The most remote areas of the planet have been accessed to make and deliver the most intricate and fascinating look ever inside the animal kingdom.

Immerse yourself in the wonders of the natural world like never before when Planet Earth II premieres Wednesday, February 15, at 7.30pm on Channel Nine.

They’re kidding, right? At least 2 of these were shown just weeks ago. It’s no wonder people are flocking to Netflix etc. when broadcast networks are running on such a thin inventory

Hardly any Promotion for the Return of the NRL Footy Show yet as well as the AFL Footy Show coming in the Next Two Weeks.

So NRL means no more new Big Bangs again. No wonder new eps don’t rate anymore - on for a few weeks, off again, back on a different night / timeslot, mixed before or after repeats, played weeks or months after the US, who can be bothered keeping up with Nine & new Big Bangs…

Internet Movie Database (IMDb) and Twitter will live stream next Monday’s Oscars, featuring a companion show hosted by Dave Karger and Amazon’s Rachel Smith, from the IMDb industry viewing party. That will go up against Nine’s own streaming and sure to be controversial, as the IMDb streaming is mostly ad-free.

Just wondering, why on earth has Nine got an almost identical primetime schedule to last year, when they rated so bad? IMO, The Block needs to go up against MKR (As it seems to be Nine’s only rating show) and have The Voice/Married at First Sight in the latter part of the year.

By putting The Block against MKR you reduce its potential ratings. It always rates a lot better away from that competition.

Nine apologises to Gina Rinehart for House of Hancock, pulls series

BILLIONAIRE Gina Rinehart slammed the miniseries about the life of Lang Hancock and his family — including her — as ‘disgraceful” and “false” and sued Channel Nine for it.

Today, she received a grovelling apology from the network, and, sources say, and agreement House of Hancock will never be shown again.

Nine and the makers of the show, Cordell Jigsaw apologised to Rinehart in a statement which clarified the program “was a drama, not a documentary, and certain matters were fictionalised for dramatic purposes”.

Its understood the program won’t be released again on DVD, streamed, or sold overseas.

Apology on 9Honey

Nine and Cordell Jigsaw accept that Mrs Rinehart found the broadcast to be inaccurate. That was certainly not the intention of Nine or Cordell Jigsaw, and each unreservedly apologises to Mrs Rinehart and her family for any hurt or offence caused by the broadcast and its promotion.

Why bury the apology at 9Honey website? How many people will see it? It should be posted on the homepage of nine.com.au

I think you just answered your own question, Johnson my lad.

I don’t think they have hardly any of the same shows as last year??

Married for AGT. Farmer is out. Habbibs will come later. There isn’t a lot that is the same besides the news slot and 60 Minutes. The rest is all different.

Married in the first quarter, The Voice in the next and The Block in the last quarter (2016) and this year looks to be the same. I am mainly talking about 7pm-9pm.

But they had Australia’s Got Talent in the first quarter last year… Married was at 8:30.

This is a comparision of last years to this years schedule

SUNDAY
7:00 - Australia’s Got Talent - Married
8:15 - 60 Minutes - 60 Minutes
9:25 - The Amazing noughties
(this week was T/20)

MONDAY
7:30 Australia’s Got Talent - Married
8:45 Farmer Wants A Wife - House Husbands

TUESDAY
7:30 The Big Bang Theory - Married
8:30 Here Comes the Habibs - Travel Guides

WEDNESDAY
7:30 The Big Bang Theory - David Attendbourgh
8:30 The Embassy - Murder Calling

THURSDAY
7:30 Inside Story - RBT
8:00 RBT - RBT
8:30 King Cross ER - Big Bang Theory

Married didn’t start until April (Q2) and was in the 8:30 slot before moving to the 7:30 slot.

The only things that are the same are 60 Minutes and RBT. Nine have done the biggest shake up of any other network.
