It will be a very interesting upfronts today, given the past tumultuous six months at Nine Entertainment that saw the departure of chairman Peter Costello, CEO Mike Sneesby, head of communications Victoria Buchan, plus Domain CEO Jason Pellegrino this week, as well as redundancies at the newspapers division. The company will be looking for some stability in the 12 months ahead, with the upfronts marking the start.
I think there will be very few surprises in the programming line-up, including new shows The Floor and The Golden Bachelor. It will be quiet on the sporting front, with the British and Irish Lions rugby tour the key event (providing Nine renews its broadcast deal with Rugby Australia).

It’s not often two New Zealand dramas get a primetime screening on the main channel of an Australian commercial network. Nine must have been inspired by the ABC which aired After the Party and Under the Vines a few months ago.
