Sounds like Hamish Turner didn’t make good on his promise to send somebody around to Mick’s house to fix his 9Gem situation.
It’s not that he “can’t” watch the cricket, he’s just not trying hard enough.
Get a FTA antenna installed (or VAST dish) or stream it.
As the meerkat says “simples”.
Bring out the cards, it’s raining at lords and will most of the day! Aahhhhh
Pessimist
9Gem HD was ‘unlocked’ this morning. Channel 231.
2006 Adelaide test being shown now to stop people switching over to the golf
Interesting to see they still have archives/access, bitterly disappointing but suppose they’ve gotta air something.
Depending if conditions improve or worsen, surely they’ll air back-up/filler general programming (like a movie - “Shawshank” anyone
), rather than archive footage, pre recorded interviews, crosses and studio babble until the wee hours?
Thanks for the heads up! Cheers
A close-up of a seagull playing in a puddle is always fun to watch.
Love the dotless Nine logo.

3rd Ashes Test
AUSTRALIA ONE WIN AWAY FROM HISTORY IN THE ASHES
The Third Ashes Test commences this Thursday August 22nd at 7.30pm AEST , LIVE, EXCLUSIVELY and in HD on Nine and 9GEM and streamed live on 9Now .
The action shifts to Headingley following a dramatic Second Test at Lord’s which saw Jofra Archer wreak havoc for England on his Test debut, taking five wickets and hitting Steve Smith with a worrying bouncer, which will ultimately see the in-form star miss the Third Test following his stunning batting heroics thus far in the series.
As the current holder of the Ashes, Australia is only one Test victory away from securing for their first series win in England since 2001, but without Smith they will need top order batsmen David Warner, Cameron Bancroft and Usman Khawaja to step up and deliver some big numbers.
Hosting Nine’s coverage will be Australian sporting legend Todd Woodbridge , alongside former Australian men’s captain Mark Taylor, former Australian women’s star Mel Jones, Aussie wicket-keeping great Ian Healy and former women’s captain Lisa Sthalekar .
Commentary will be provided by a collection of heavyweights of world cricket, such as Aussie and English stars Shane Warne, Ricky Ponting , Michael Atherton, David Lloyd, Isa Guha and more.
The 3rd Ashes Test begins at 7:30pm AEST tomorrow night on Nine, 9GEM and 9Now ( time and channel throughout the series varies by state – see below and check guides for details).
Has Ricky Ponting commentated at all yet? Haven’t heard him from what I’ve seen
I am not sure if this is entirely correct. If Australia wins the third test then it retains the Ashes. They will need to win the fourth test to claim outright series victory.
No he hasn’t.
And welcome to the coverage Ponting.
Good to hear that voice.
2013 Perth Ashes test now being showed due to rain.
I notice that journalist Chris Barrett, who is in England covering The Ashes for The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald, has been recording reviews of each day’s play with Mark Taylor for the websites of the two papers. Another collaboration between Nine’s TV and newspaper divisions.
