Nine Cricket Coverage

And what a shock result!

I though the Aussie girls were a sure thing for the final.

What a innings by Harmanpreet Kaur.

The ICC Women’s World Cup will not be on TV following Australia’s elimination from the Finals. Instead it will be shown live on 9Now from 7:30PM (EST).

Poor decision by Nine.

Nine normally show the final of the Mens World Cup be it ODI or T20 (IIRC), usually on 9Gem or 9Go.

Double standards.

This summer’s Ashes cricket series will require a miracle to go ahead after the Australian Cricketers Association said that even if there is an agreement for a new pay deal, the subsequent negotiations on a new MOU and player contracts would not be completed early enough to allow the preparations for the games to happen.

The way it’s going at the moment the Aussies are effectively just handing England the Ashes.

No. They won’t tour at all if this doesn’t get resolved.

If they get a deal done before the Ashes, you can bet they’ll move heaven and earth to get it there.

Also, presumably Nine will stop paying CA/be compensated if the summer of cricket fails to eventuate?

theres a report on mumbrella here stating that 9 is having a hard time selling advertising for the ashes due to the uncertainty.

my partner works in the marketing department for a major australian company and they have been approached by nine and been offered rates that are absolutely unbelievable. around a 30% discount on last years rates when an ashes series should actually be drawing a premium.

Wow! That’s incredible and very distressing for Nine no doubt.

Nine have been concerned about advertising for the cricket for the past few years it’s worth noting

Would Nine be compensated by Cricket Australia for lost revenue?

Last Friday Cricket Australia announced the schedule for this year’s Women’s Ashes series between Australia and England. Nine Network will be showing all ODI and T20 matches but not the day/night test. All matches will be streamed on live on Cricket Australia website and the CA Live app. The series begins with a one-day international match in Brisbane’s Allan Border Field on 22 October, followed by two ODIs in Coffs Harbour International Stadium on 26 and 29 October. The series then moves to North Sydney Oval for an historic first day-night women’s Test (9-12 November), before culminating in T20 international matches in North Sydney Oval (17 November) and Canberra’s Manuka Oval (19 and 21 November).

Good news, Bill Lawry will be back this summer commentating the Ashes tests in Melbourne and Sydney plus couple of ODIs, according to today’s Sunday Telegraph.

Tbh, the last couple of summers have been all about the BBL, than tests.

Imagine if the BBL was on Seven, it’d rate even higher!

I was at the Boxing Day Test last summer and it was poor, poured with heavy rain all the time too (something Sydney is usually prone to in summer).

True but it won’t happen in the next couple of years with the Ashes and the Indians coming Down Under.

No TV Coverage of the JLT Cup this summer. Only way to watch it will be online

Those graphics with the flames are almost identical to the graphics used during the 2006/2010 Ashes Tour.

In fact they are exactly the graphics used in the 2013/14 Ashes.
