the background graphic is official (One i saw was slightly lighter) / was in the up-fronts not sure about Ryan and Melissa being overlayed
I actually like that AM is the name they went with. AM is already familiar with NZ audiences so shortening it and refreshing the graphics (and hopefully the set too?) should make for a good show.

Looks similar to GMA in the usa.
I wonder if they will move to the newshub set if they are potentially going to have 5 of them at times, I know it said roving weather reporter, but still they will be a bit cramped in the current set surely

@killy06 The title “Good Morning New Zealand” wasn’t chosen.
In 1989 TVNZ changed the name of its morning news bulletin “Breakfast News” to “Good Morning New Zealand”, but RNZ already had “Good Morning New Zealand” as a three-hour morning news and information programme which included “Morning Report”.
RNZ took legal action against TVNZ over the programme title, and TVNZ changed its name back to “Breakfast News”.

Taking a leaf out of the Canadians book, Canada: AM, the former breakfast show on CTV before it got replaced by Your Morning.

Great to see more News, with the 5.30am bulletin and 8pm news. About time they started at 5.30am, if I were TVNZ I’d start broadcasting at 5.30am from Monday to bed the audience in so they don’t sample AM in the New Year.

I wondered that too, The overall look of the show could really be revamped and needs to be imo, still would prefer Laura as I find her more likeable, Kanoa still rocks though if only they could have both lol
