It was due to the set lighting being unable to dip to black so quickly during the reset to 6PM and camera positionings for the opener setup

Watched Newshub 4:30pm for the first time in a while. Janika ter Ellen anchoring today. There appeared to be a problem with the weather - we only saw a warning map.

Melissa Chan-Green has been announced as co-host of Newshub’s new breakfast show AM.
The AM Show will re-launch with a new name and new logo in early 2022.
Bridge and Chan-Green will be joined in the studio by a news and sports presenter, as well as a roving weather reporter, whose identities have yet to be revealed. The show will offer a mix of news, entertainment, sports and weather, airing on Three and available online at ThreeNow.

Discovery has announced it will launch two new free-to-air channels, Gusto and Rush, as well as a new Newshub Live at 8pm bulletin and AM Early show in 2022.

Also launching a 5:30AM AM early show for Three, a new multichannel bulletin on new channel ‘Gusto’ at 8pm and a reshaped late bulletin.

Wow, Discovery has seemingly been a great thing for Three with lots of extra investment there.
Surprised no word this morning on launching Discovery+, that would have to be part of the overall plan you’d think.
Maybe Discovery should’ve bought Network 10

Great to see a mid-evening news option coming in. TVNZ need to up its game urgently. At the moment they appear to be unable to provide any news offering past 6pm.
Loved TVNZ7’s 8pm bulletin back in the day (allthough Greg Boyed really made that).

It’s interesting that Three are going back to doing a ‘traditional’ breakfast program (as we now know it) and offering a direct alternative to Breakfast considering the channel didn’t have much success last time they tried doing it with Sunrise between 2007 and 2010.
