Yesterday News Corp published an apology to businessman John Merity across its papers and online. It read:

On 15 February 2020, the Daily Telegraph, the Herald Sun and other News Corp Australia publications published in print and online an article which conveyed false and defamatory allegations of and concerning Mr John James Merity.

News Corp Australia withdraws those allegations without reservation.

They should never have been published.

News Corp Australia apologises to John James Merity for the harm, hurt and distress caused to him and his family by reason of the publication of the false allegations.

The News Corp owned Papua New Guinea Post-Courier must have a deal with Nine newspapers for stories. I wonder why? This SMH article appeared in the Post-Courier.

put more newsagents out of business.

Chemist Warehouse is a disgrace in so many ways. They replaced one chemist in our local shopping centre and with their ovestocked and cramped premises and forced the other chemist within the same centre to go out of business. Now it takes 25 minutes to fill a prescription there but customers have no other choice.

Peter Ford said on 3AW’s Ross and John this morning that Daniel Johns just wanted an apology from News Corp about the false article as he was worried about his mother. Money was not an issue.

They got the wrong man of the same name. Completely unrelated individuals.

Mistook a mining exec for a jailed male from Nowra.

Time to improve their fact checking.

I see Amy Harris is still writing for the Telegraph as is Jonathon “J.Mo” Moran.
