Who is the replacement?

No mention of one.

Lisa Wilkinson hasn’t cycled thru ABC yet… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: :zipper_mouth_face:  :dotted_line_face: :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth: :joy:

Lisa Wilkinson would be the best available host. Doubt the ABC could afford her.

Will never happen. No one will touch her again.

Plenty of people have made comebacks, never say never.

Could be someone like Allie Moore from ABC Radio Melbourne. She was an original host on the News24.

Kath Robinson would be great but doubt she’d move from Sydney.

None of the current fill ins really strike as being ready for the high profile main gig.

Love the idea of Kath, she would be excellent.

The announcement this morning. They needed a bigger couch.

Some sad news for News Breakfast viewers this morning. Wishing Lisa all the best on those back roads and dog wrangling assignments. And enjoy the sleep-ins! https://t.co/XjGrRV18qe

Wonder if they’ll get someone full-time to replace her.
Emma is the logical answer.

I’m trying to think of female talent that is Melbourne based to replace Lisa.

Bec Maddern?

ABC more likely to look within than hire externally.

It’s a good time to be looking with all the lay offs in the commercial sector.

Good outcome for the show, the appointment was a mistake in the first place.

Everyone suggesting commercial tv names, lol. Zero understanding of the ABC audience and why people choose the ABC over tabloid commercial outlets.

First of all, NB needs to decide whether they want a “team” or a rota of presenters similar to BBC Today and Breakfast. If it’s the latter then they obvs need to adjust the marketing and structure of the show a bit to allow a mix of people. A rota does not lend itself to the cringe tabloid angle they’ve been poking at for some time either. Return to the show to its strength - the only hard news breakfast show.

Bev O’Connor used to fill in all the time. Tamara may be less interested in 7pm now it’s hardly the flagship bulletin it used to be. She would obviously have to commit to being there tho.

This is no shock at all. She’s been absent much of this year and it’s been obvious for a while now they’re grooming Bridget Brennan to replace her.

All the best to Lisa though, I’ve enjoyed her time in the role.
