Bridget also has her duties as Aboriginal Affairs correspondent, so may not be available full time.

They had a former executive producer, Tim Ayliffe, on the show today promoting the release of his book. I thought it was interesting that he mentioned that he tapped Lisa on the shoulder in 2012 scoping her interest as being a future successor for Virginia.
It was also mentioned that Lisa told the crew of her decision to leave this morning.
Bridget is part-time, so Emma is certainly ideal, and my preference.

According to Annette Sharp in The Daily Telgraph, the ABC website profile for Bridget Brennan may have let slip that she will be the new co-host.
