Newcastle Radio

2HD’s 90.5 relay at Belmont North now seems to have a ‘stereo’ sound output (not just a pilot light).

However, the sound quality isn’t real good, the audio seems to be favouring the left channel, and I’m not even sure that it’s “true” stereo, it could be something in the audio processing that is creating that impression?

Should be stereo as it is fed via IP when I was working there

thanks, for some reason, it’s only ever been outputting mono (or the same sound on both left and right) at the TX (with a stereo pilot) for some reason up until now.

Likely cause the feed was mono coming out of the studio for sometime

The ill fated first location of the Belmont translator in the bushy semi rural setting, has that pole been removed now?

I think so… I will check next time I’m out.

Triple M still on top, Hit and NEWFM up in Newcastle survey

" Hit 106.9 and 105.3 NEWFM have considerably closed the gap in the latest GfK survey of the area."

I checked for the pole today, GONE!

You never would have known it was there in the first place now.
