Interesting that one of the comments wants Guy to ā€œfix the line between 2SM and 2HDā€ as apparently programs sent over the network from 2HD are only in Mono or something… I’m not sure how the audio gets shared around between HD and SM before it is sent to the Satellite but I remember reading about plans to upgrade the AM Satellite feed to Stereo at some point.

It wasn’t me  . However I have posted that problem in the 2SM thread… So they should fix this simple stuff I agree with that person. 2SM do play some good tunes from time to time mostly when 2HD is on air but there isn’t much point with just the left channel for some 60s classics ;).

So looking around at work yesterday and all the internal Nine material has been removed. I didn’t see the back side of the building where our logos are, but would assume it’s gone from there too.

This is what has replaced the NBN News billboard when you step out of our lifts.

Is Ducko his first or last name?

Have they moved to where the new NBN News studio will be?

Nick. His dad is Chris Allen from A Current Affair.

Bit weird having it as Nick, Jess and Nick.

They could call it ā€œTwo Nicks and a Jessā€

I looked yesterday driving past. There’s no signage at the front yet - I meant to go and walk down there to check things out but forgot.

This is outside SCA Gold Coast. NBN logo replaced with Listenr app logo.

I presume NBN will go back to Surfers Paradise and relocate with Nine Gold Coast.

Is it possible that NBN/Nine may not be moving into Honeysuckle afterall, with their SCA partnership soon to come to an end?

SCA is 118 Honeysuckle. 9 sales/production was with us there for the past three years.

9 news/office/promotions were still at Mosbri Crescent and are moving 5 buildings down from us at 128 Honeysuckle.

WIN Sales are based at Charlestown and will move to 128 Honeysuckle in September.

It’s happening at the end of August.

2HD 90.5 Belmont is back on air, running Test transmissions according to the RDS.

Similar coverage to the previous one, in Newcastle, it’s OK in most parts but is prone to cutting in and out in CBDs where there are more buildings.

I assume TX is at the Belmont North DTV site near the Pacific Hwy- Violet Town Rd intersection.

RDS is 2HD-FM and text is 2HD FM 90.5 Test Transmission! (cap in RDS thread).

Interesting, will have to track down where this actually is located, can’t say I’ve seen any FM antennas at the Belmont North DTV site, not to say their isn’t one hidden among all the others, I did look when driving past yesterday afternoon though.

Looks like it started yesterday & is running for 7 days according to the public notice in the Newcastle Herald. https://www.newcastleherald.com.au/images/transform/v1/resize/frm/longbeach/3baca4c0-42fb-4d55-be26-f669fe360131/w300_h0.jpg?resize_filter=lanczos2&quality=100

Yeah, because I’m a essential worker I’ve got letters from the company to say I can go anywhere anytime, so could just say I’m going to work, I have to check a transmitter. :grinning:

90.5 licence details not yet listed in ACMA’s Register of Radiocommunications Licences either. Will probably happen next week?

Perhaps maybe not until the Test transmission is completed?

So possibly not until week of 5-9 July? (assuming all goes well with the tests).

I had to go to the Forresters Beach transmitter site this afternoon, so thought while I’m out & have a letter to say I can go anywhere, anytime, if I’m asked questions, why not visit the Belmont North DTV site & see if I can find the new 2HD FM transmitter, & guess what, I found it, it’s actually at the Axicom/DTV translator site where ACMA planned it to go, if only they did this in the first place.

I listened on the way to & from Forresters Beach, & I’ll be interested how far South down the freeway it goes when I can travel back to the office in Sydney, but found it was strong to about Lake Munmorah, then it was a bit fluttery every now & again, was pretty much like a local station all the way to Norah Head though, got a bit fluttery around The Entrance, but still easily listenable, same at Bateau Bay, but then started getting weak closer to Forresters Beach. Heading up the hill to the transmitter site at Forresters Beach on the South side, the radio was swapping between 2HD & 2CCR Baulkham Hills, but all 2HD at the top.

These photos were taken from the North side of the Belmont North tower, transmit antenna is on the South leg facing South, what I think is the receive antenna is on the North East (probably) leg, & I think faces towards Charlestown area sort of, I’m wondering if it’s facing & is feed off air from the Port Stephens translator?
