According to the article, this is apparently the first time both networks have done this. TVNZ2 and Duke are going to do the same thing with Patriot Brains but this is way bigger.
I remember Three & Bravo did this for the first ep of Real Housewives of Auckland
Patriot Brains will debut on TVNZ2 on Wednesday, April 7 at 8.30pm.
Considering the ratings of TVNZ2 now, they are going to need all the help they can get to launch it. The promo they have created for this show gives the audience no insight of the talent they have come across which is possibly a mistake on their part.
The format of this series differs from the original âTrueblissâ series which was more of a documentary. This seems to be a cheaper to license Idol or X Factor reality competition format.
I wish I had a computer still so I could mock up a better alternative of 2 Overnight what a horrible loop. Closedown properly?
Whatâs the deal with advertising on Good Friday?
I thought advertisements werenât allowed but Edge TV are playing âSave My Baconâ adverts every so often.
Here is the legislation could it be a show sponsor?
Nothing in this section prevents the inclusion in any programme broadcast on television or sound radio of a credit in respect of a sponsorship or underwriting arrangement entered into in relation to that programme.

No, there was nothing in the advert about being a show sponsor but the Wandr ads definitely are.
Here is an example of one of the ads. It doesnât seem like a show sponsorship.

And also the Save My Bacon advert that aired earlier.

Yeah that looks like advertising to me.
The Edge TV is advertising again today on another no-no day
I wonder whether they are claiming its broadcast online primarily or trying to find a loophole that way?
The Ocean Swim Series would almost be fine as it falls under Community Notice type thing.
Possibly, but the target audience will be New Zealand so the legislation should still apply.
The channel has seen a lot of neglect since it turned into an HD streaming service, so whoeverâs running it probably sets the playlist once a week and leaves it to shuffle through. Iâm guessing they forgot to take the ads out of the loop.
I agree that is more likely.
They should re name the am show to NZ Today
Iâve never been a fan of Guy Williams but NZ Today is gold. Just give him 7pm already.
TVNZ 1 announces they will bring a special The Duke In His Own Words tonight 8:50pm after Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh has died at the age of 99 late last night (NZT)

Itâs interesting to see how restrained the NZ news coverage of this has been compared to Australia. A couple of specials and thatâs it.
Iâm quite happy that they arenât going overboard with rolling coverage like the Australian networks. Probably owing to it being a Saturday and neither network produces news programming really except for 6pm bulletins on weekends.
