Tv3 was the home of true kiwi shows from inception and to be fair more of a nz channel then tvnz 1 and 2 were at times.
But, I dont see how going backwards and rebranding as Tv3 will bring in the demographic that three so clearly needs. In order to succeed Three needs to modernize and change and its staff and brand need to reflect this.
Yes Discovery will have an influence on programming but just remember, what three has now isnt working, so the influence of Discovery would not be the worst thing. A trial and error approach is what three needs. And if the programming influence doesnât succeed, atleast they would have tried.
If a trial and error approach is what three needs. Changing the name of the channel needs to be the last thing trialled.
Flip flopping on programming is one thing. But changing the name of the channel just to see if works when the programming isnât right, will not only not bring in the demographics, but lose those who now feel unfamiliar with the brand
An indication in this story that Three will be relocating from Flower Street in the coming year. I wonder where?
Perhaps this is why The AM Show / Newshub sets have remained untouched until they move to a new site.
Discovery-owned nationwide channel Three in New Zealand has selected its video storage management platform â Kumulate â to migrate the broadcasterâs entire video archive to the cloud ahead of vacating the TV stationâs offices and studio in the coming year.
The Project is filmed and produced out of the former home of one of the shopping channels on Boston Road in Auckland, just fits their staff let alone the entirty of flower Street.
I thought the Viaduct might be a good place. Good connections to motorways and there will be empty buildings after the americas Cup finishes up from the team headquarters, streetside studios are nice to have but are 1.a security risk, 2.difficult to manage lighting during the various daylight hours 3.no promise there will always be people at the location.
Fair points with the issues associated with having a street side set but if Seven and NBC can mitigate these, then Iâm sure Three can. A viaduct location sounds ideal and the great harbor views would be stunning as well as enabling The AM Show to have an outdoor concert series.
Yep. Although it hasnât happened yet, I suspect one day Seven will move on from Martin Place and into a cheaper, less publicly visible location for their News & Current Affairs HQ. But thatâs for another topic.
