Possibly since Four is Turning into Bravo Targeting 25-54 Women and focusing on Lifestyle and Reality Shows, TV3 looks certain to Target 18-54 Year Olds.

I think TV3 will stay 18-49.

As for Sticky TV, I understand it’s moving to 3

The fifth season of The Block New Zealand starts soon on TV3, named ‘The Block NZ: Girls and Boys’.

Block-a-holics can start to gear up for MediaWorks season five of TV3’s The Block NZ, beginning on Sunday May 29. However this season is different, with young couples being replaced by two teams of women and two teams of men in the first The Block NZ: Girls Vs Boys.

The teams will compete to renovate four 1980s town houses in Auckland’s Meadowbank. This year’s teams are as follows:

  • Team Niki and Tiff: Niki Osborne and Tiffany Mair from Christchurch and Wanaka
  • Team Emma and Courtney: Emma Diamond and Courtney MacKay from Dunedin
  • Team Sam and Emmett: Sam Cable and Emmett Vallender from Wellington
  • Team Dyls and Dylz: Dylan Cossey and Dylan Guitink from Mount Maungaui

Architect Paul Izzard and interior designer Fiona McLeod will be this year’s Room Reveal judges. Founder of leading New Zealand architecture and design firm IZZARD, Paul has over 20 years’ local and international experience in the design industry. Fiona has been involved in the interior design industry since 2002 and runs her own PR and events company. The Block NZ: Girls Vs Boys starts Sunday May 29 at 7pm and continues Monday through to Wednesday at 7:30pm on TV3, and then on 3NOW. The Block NZ: Girls Vs Boys is the local version of the renovation-reality format which sees teams each transform a house with the goal of selling them at auction for the highest price. Each team keeps the profit above reserve from the sale of their property on auction night, and the 2016 winning team takes home an extra prize of $100,000.Any house which does not sell on the night remains on the market for a month, and it is still possible for the team who renovated it to share in any profits. Winners of The Block NZ last year, Brooke and Mitch, sold their villa $190,000 above the reserve price of $1,160,000. With the first place bonus prize money of $100,000 they walked away with $290,000. AMP is proud to be on board as broadcast sponsor for their second season, along with returning programme partners Bosch Power Tools, Freedom, Haier, Honda, Mico Bathrooms, Peter Hay Kitchens, Pita Pit and new programme partners Central Heating New Zealand and Resene.

HOST ANNOUNCED FOR TV2’S SURVIVOR NEW ZEALAND

Seven Sharp reporter Matt Chisholm will host one of the most hotly-anticipated series, Survivor New Zealand, coming soon to TV2.

Matt has been entertaining Kiwis since joining TVNZ’s Close Up in 2008, then as part of the Seven Sharp team for the last four years. Over that time he has experienced everything from being kissed by an angry butcher, paddling through the night with Trans-Tasman rowers, to taking it all off to experience what it is to be a naturist.

The move to be host of one of the biggest shows to come to New Zealand is incredibly exciting for Matt: “I never would have dreamed that I would be part of the Survivor phenomenon. Working in News and Current Affairs is a fantastic ride but I’m looking forward to dipping my toes in new waters for a bit!”

“I can’t wait to watch the castaways slug it out, in what is one of the hardest reality-show competitions in the world.”

TVNZ’s Director of Content, Jeff Latch says: “Matt has proved himself to be an engaging and intelligent reporter over the years. Couple that with his wicked sense of humour and how he loves to throw himself into any situation, Matt is the perfect host for Survivor New Zealand.”

Survivor New Zealand sees Kiwi ‘castaways’ battle it out in an ultimate test of endurance, strength and strategy. Castaways compete in reward and immunity challenges, with weekly eliminations by tribal vote, until there is only one ‘Sole Survivor’.

More than 8,000 hopeful Kiwis applied to be part of the international television phenomenon, enough potential castaways to cast the next 10 series.

Survivor New Zealand will air on TV2 at a later date.

Survivor New Zealand is produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production New Zealand.

Applications for Survivor New Zealand have now closed.

The Final 21 Days of FOUR has Begun.

Eulogy

For 19 years and 3 days she graced New Zealand’s airwaves with her presence. So let us remember the channel that was TV4. Sometimes known as C4, and lately FOUR, may we consider the dearth of quality programming she gave us. For Sci-Fi night, cartoons
on Tuesdays, then moved to Thursdays, live coverage of Tyson v Holyfield’s Bite-Fight,
cricket test matches and a place to watch V8 Supercars when 3News was on. Yes, TV4 had a bit of it all.

Her bountiful programming in those halcyon days included no less than; Buffy, South Park, Sliders, Dr Katz, Beavis and Butthead, Daria, Shooting Stars, Talk Soup, SportsNight, Red Shoe Diaries (ahem), Harry Enfield, The New Music, Hitchhikers Guide, Crapston Villa’s, amongst others. And local productions abound; Ice TV, The Drum, Cine City, and the Testpattern every Sunday morning emblazoning the Channel Z logo, and later the More FM logo. How could we forget?

It was days after the finale of Love is a Four Letter Word, that she was dragged from her youth to become Music Channel C4 in 2003. Consider; UChoose40, C4U, 6 degrees, Pop-up Video, Making Tracks and the ever-present Blender or Select? But gone were the regular programmes, save for South Park. Evermore we will be reminded how she pissed- off the Roman Catholic Church, on more than one occasion, by airing particular episodes of said cartoon, and later too with Popetown.

Let us remember also as C4, there was again another reformat to bring back those programmes we can recollect; Fonejacker, My Name is Earl, Raising Hope, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Clone High, MisFits, Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law, Sealab 2021, The Ronnie Johns Good Times Campfire Jamboree Half Hour Show (Now on Television), Mighty Boosh, Little Britain, The Dudesons, Jackass, Pimp My Ride, The Daily Show and yes, even Jono’s New Show.

Life has many recurring moments, and TV4 epitomised this sense of déjà vu. Who could forget those endless reruns of Get Smart, Futurama, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Malcolm in the Middle and Everyone Hates Chris.

And let us remember that final rebrand, that big yellow rubber-duckie, the smiley face drawn by plane in the skies over Auckland, and being New Zealand’s most ‘liked’ channel. As FOUR, she entertained; The Good Guys, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, How I Met Your Mother, Danger Mouse, Bob’s Burgers, New Girl and without exception, Community. And need I remind you of Fast Four?

Let us not forget her spawn C4, and hot sister C42, who have both sadly predeceased FOUR.

TV3’s little sister channel, which showed so much promise, is now at peace. Those of us present may remember the phrase Wah-hey from early programme trailers. Well TV4, I say to you, Wah-hey you classy bastard, wah-hey.

FOUR - TV SHOWS MOVING TO TV3

FOUR will be taken off air at 11pm on Saturday July 2 and will be replaced with Bravo New Zealand on July 3.

Bravo is New Zealand’s newest TV channel delivering high-quality programming including Top Chef, Vanderpump Rules, Made In Chelsea, Flipping Out and the popular Million Dollar Listing and The Real Housewives franchises – and much more.
What will happen to my favourite FOUR shows?

Children’s programming: From Monday 4 July, Teddy (Sticky TV) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be coming to TV3 weekday afternoons at 3.20pm in a new one hour line-up. Throughout the year, we’ll be rotating other kids shows in place of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
We’ll also be playing Pukana at 6.30am on Saturdays on TV3, and will have Pukana, Sticky TV, and a number of other shows on 3NOW – like The Wiggles, The Moe Show and Emma!
Over the summer school holidays we’ll be increasing the amount of kids programming in the schedule.
Other shows like New Girl, The Goldbergs, American Dad, Bob’s Burgers, Fresh Off The Boat and Face Off will also find a new home on TV3 and 3NOW.
How do I access Bravo? / Why am I seeing black?

If you have Freeview NZ, you can watch Bravo on channel 4 or Bravo PLUS 1 on channel 9. If you have SKY, you can watch Bravo on channel 12 and Bravo PLUS 1 on channel 512.
If you can’t locate Bravo, your TV or set top box may need a retune.

TO RETUNE:
Select MENU on the remote control.
Select SET UP or INSTALLATION option.
Follow instructions to retune.
You may be prompted to delete your existing channels as the equipment will find new channels.
This may take a few minutes and your equipment may shut down and restart.
More retune information is available on Freeview channel 500 and on www.freeviewforum.co.nz.

Way past my age range but unsurprised Sesame St isn’t coming. Apparently it’s very expensive to license.

Here is how the station finished up at 10:50pm on Saturday 2 July 2016, the channel closed with Feist singing 1,2,3,4 the same Sesame Street song that was used to relaunch the channel to it’s the state preceding the launch of Bravo the station then faded to black. The final show to play on Four was The Biggest Loser.

Current Bravo standby card as captured by the 3Now powered live-stream can be found here.
