What do I win? Nothing, right? I knew it.
In other news, Discovery NZ have trademarked the brand “Ruby”… I wonder if that will be a future brand for +HR=E now? Surely they won’t be thinking of launching yet another channel?

A free-to-air classic TV channel? Would fit the Ruby name.
I wonder if its to replace bravo once their contract runs out maybe
Ruby is also the name of a fashion label in New Zealand, so I don’t know if Ruby will file a lawsuit against Discovery NZ over the use of the name ‘Ruby’.
Late last year, Discovery announced that it would launch two new channels - Gusto and Rush - which began on 21 March this year. However, shortly before launch, the name ‘Gusto’ was changed to ‘Eden’ (or ‘eden’ as it’s shown on-screen) to avoid confusion with the world’s most innovative linear food TV channel of the same name.
The fashion label will be trademarked under a different category (if they’ve bothered to trademark their brand at all); I doubt there’s any need to call in the lawyers - the liklihood anyone will confuse a media brand with a fashion brand would be pretty low.
For exclusive reruns of Melody Rules? No thanks!
@TV4 I wish the whole country had a free nostalgia channel, i.e. a free-to-air equivalent of JONES! on Sky, with reruns of classic comedies, dramas, miniseries and entertainment from television’s golden age.
British dramas - like The Bill, Bergerac, London’s Burning, Howards’ Way, Boon, Minder, The Onedin Line, The Brothers, The Sweeney, The Professionals, Dempsey and Makepeace, The Gentle Touch etc - are amongst them, as does the best in classic British comedy (e.g. Hi-de-Hi!, Keeping Up Appearances, Open All Hours, Butterflies, Ever Decreasing Circles, Are You Being Served?, ‘Allo ‘Allo!, Bread, Blackadder, One Foot in the Grave, Only Fools and Horses, Mind Your Language, Home to Roost, Duty Free, That’s My Boy, Never the Twain etc).
What do New Zealanders watch instead of Big Borther?
@Sheldon_Betteridge You mean Big Brother?
Yes
Travel Guides NZ will make its Australian debut on Nine on Wednesday June 1.
Is it any good?
Its not as good as the og but its good
Hillary Barry to feature on Shortland Street. Hilary Barry is your new favourite Shortland Street star | The Spinoff
Interesting that they have trade marked this name. I thought ThreeNow would be folded into Discovery+ when it arrives. Could possibly be Bravo getting a facelift or the days of HGTV looking numbered. I did a TVNZ greenroom survey and one of the questions was would you watch a TVNZ Sports channel( possible replacement for channel 7). Interesting times in the FTA sector.
Maori Television are changing their name… sort of. This RNZ article explains they’ll refer to themselves as Whakaata Māori from 9 June 2022.
I say “sort of” as they’ve always used Whakaata Māori that name in combination with Maori Television… can’t believe they waited this long to do it! Now, for +HR=E to rebrand permanently as +ORU…
I wonder if they would rename three to ruby
That is not going to happen
You never know! And to be fair, its not all that out of the question now a days
