And its competition on TVNZ2… Masterchef Australia. It will be interesting to see who wins. Three did a season of Masterchef back in 2015, I don’t recall it being a major drawcard in the ratings.

When does the new season of MasterChef Australia start on TVNZ2? The show’s page on TVNZ website only says it is coming soon.
When it happens, I think this will be the first time two versions of MasterChef going head to head on TV, anywhere in the world.

Sunday June 12th. So it will most likely be going directly head to head with Masterchef NZ in the same timeslot.

That may be a disservice to the viewers, but Prime did show the US version in the morning slot not long ago

Not shocking, but Sky TV could be in talks to buy Mediaworks.

Previously used to own Three and Bravo; it was sold to Discovery (now Warner Bros Discovery) in 2020 and Mediaworks now stands as a radio/outdoor company.

Maybe then they could finally retire that Sky Digital Music suite that no one uses anymore.

From tomorrow, Maori Television will rebrand to Whakaata Maori.

At the stroke of 6am (9 June 2022), Maori Television has officially marked the change and will now be known as Whakaata Maori. Maori Television has been using its original name ever since it first launched in March 2004 before rebranding.

Its new name reflects the role it plays. Whakaata means ‘to mirror’, ‘to reflect’ and ‘to display’ and be proud of who we are.

Here’s some screencaps from the first few mins unveiling new signs at the East Tamaki headquarters in the Whakakoia Whakaata Māori 2.5hr special.

Graphics, promos, idents are always the same since its 2016 rebrand. Three does it better.

What will the new graphics look like for TVNZ?

:open_mouth:

Hmmm…

Probably first and last thing done by Yurisch as head of News and Current Affairs TVNZ.

TVNZ will follow 10 in Australia by showing MasterChef Australia: Fans vs Favourites from Sundays to Thursdays. In week 1 (June 12-15), it will air from Sunday to Wednesday.

Masterchef AU vs Masterchef NZ.

Let the ratings war begin.
