Network 10 2019

do we even know that 10 News First is to be the brand of the main bulletin?

We don’t, but you would think it is considering they have launched dedicated TwitterFB/domains for this new brand.
I doubt they’d do such a thing for a secondary bulletin.

Nope, a lot of assumptions but I guess the main consideration here is that they wouldn’t have bought domains and established state based account handles for something that was just a national bulletin.

No and it’s common practice to brainstorm all sorts of ideas and register them all just in case. It doesn’t cost much in the scheme of things.

Unless they’re doing local breakfast or local late night?

well, anyone can set up social media accounts or Ten themselves could be setting up decoys. Wouldn’t be the first time such a thing has happened in both respects.

But it might be something like a brand for online / social media news platforms. Not necessarily for broadcast. Which almost makes sense. If you want to see news first, go to 10 news first…

Keep dreaming :frowning:

Of course! Until we know for sure, let’s just speculate! :stuck_out_tongue:

Breakfast is really one to watch. That is where you can imagine a “10 News FIrst”. And, yes, at 5pm too. But breakfast has always been a key news timeslot. They know that, and they have tried twice in recent years.

Bottom line, though - it needs to be fun. It can’t be boring yesterday’s news

The logo is changing…its a fact. This all makes sense. The news graphics are changing and hence the renaming of all services. Change is good! Bring it on! :+1:

Not always. Seven had a very profitable niche audience for children’s television at breakfast while Nine and Ten battled it out with their expensive to produce news breakfast shows many years ago.

I don’t understand how changing the logo is turning them into a 7 or a 9!? It’s a logo for Gods sake! Its great they are branching out and changing!

That’s what I hear too… now if they can just arrange some good new content to go with the window dressing.

Changing to a numerical 10 would be a pretty big statement. And, indeed, a sign that they are shifting towards the kind of station that 7 and 9 are.

Not sure that’s a good thing. Becoming more of the same doesn’t usually work it just becomes a 3-way split and the lowest ranked one usually ends up still being so.

I dont see Channel 11 looking like 7 or 9? It’s just a logo :+1:

Well, Seven on 25.5 and Nine on 27.3 and Ten on 5.8 or whatever I wouldn’t call a great 3-way split - right now! And these are some of the shares I’ve seen recently :frowning: Seems to me Ten wants some of that 7 and 9 action…

That’s a secondary channel with no news. Very different. Believe me or not - 10 NEWS is a big shift.

It’s going to be a change thats for sure, the circle ten logo has been part of Ten since 1991 and well I grew up with that little thing…lol It’s going to throw me around when the new logo comes.

Numerical seems to be fit, as they are showing some of it now, I wonder if thats been a preview? If you look at the idents recently including for the Sunday night movie they have been promoting the numerical 10 in the promos. My bullshit theory which based on lies and true lies, is that they are sneaking it in… to not upset whatever audience they have left.

Decent return to programming is my hope for 2019, constancy in times lots for shows (including sports tonight, but I guess that’s probably going to be axed soon enough. They never really seemed to take any care of interest in it. It was done half-assed.)

My question that I have is if they name Eleven to 10 Peach, when Neighbours would really be out of place on that channel? I mean Peach sounds like it’s a going to be sort of like a ladies channel, which would probably scare off some blokes :stuck_out_tongue: Trust me I know people in my social circles who are morons but refuse to watch GEM because they believe it’s targeted at women and all the shows are all about how bad men are.
Nonetheless It should be great to see a refresh for Ten.

And good luck to them I hope it works out. But history tells us that when there’s a 3-way battle the last one to join usually falls away worse off. Which is why Ten’s strength for most of the last 30 years has been about being different, not about being the same. But I wish them well whatever they do (although if they do that “10” logo thing I think I will :sleepy:)

The change in logo and presentation elements itself is the statement to viewers that they can expect a different Ten; but whether it is TEN or 10 seems irrelevant to me.
