What if it was at 9:30 (as people here originally thought up).
I’d watch it if it was at 9:30, and its certainly a better option than most of the stuff Ten have on their channel at that time anyway.
Just a thought but could 10 Boss /10 Peach be the name of a possible 4th channel ? Considering that, Ten only has 3 channels unlike everyone else?
@10Queensland also now registered, but anyone could be making these up now.
Appears @10Sydney & @10Syd have been taken for some time, whilst appearing to be inactive.
@10melbourne appears to also be available, though is showing with a loading error.
Only thing I’m concerned about is the 10 thing. It’s just not that exciting - the whole “10” brand thing. Like, it’s kind of a turn-off. And I think it’s the reason why they’ve stuck with “Ten” all these years. The numerical 10 just looks kind of second-rate and community-access TV kind of thing to me. But hey, maybe they are, in a way, going for that hyper-local feel.
It’s just a return to the late 1970s to early 1980s when Ten had the logo of 10 surrounded by four colours.
Do you mean the numeral 10? That certainly wasn’t the case in Sydney where it was definitely “TEN” at that time.

No doubt the situation was different in other markets, but from a Sydney perspective…

…there’s so far only ever been one time the logo has been written as “10” with the others being “TEN” or “ten” with the variants we’ve seen since 1991. What we’d probably call “the colour TV” Ten logo had five (yellow, green, red, blue, magenta) colours.
This is the logo I remember most, growing up in Melbourne in the 80’s

Crazy times
I am intrigued that they set up two separate Brisbane and Queensland pages
It’s speculative that it’s Ten setting up all of these pages, it’s not entirely uncommon for other people to register accounts or secure handles.

Their challenge is likely, for consistency’s sake, is that not all of the handles are available as some have been secured long ago but remain inactive.
Indeed - it could be someone squatting - but it’s fascinating nonetheless.

I think that was the first TEN/10 logo for Melbourne… the one they used for the transition from channel 0 along with the slogan “You’re on top with 10”
It’s so freaking odd, though. Really… 10 News First?? I mean it’s an OK enough name, but I’d love to know what it is. They are not (seemingly) hiring hundreds of new staff so, unless by some kind of miracle, I assume it does not mean local news at breakfast and in prime time. But a genuine “10 News First” would surely have to involve some beefed up news output. Like, for example, I would love to see Jennifer Keyte and Quarters add a 9:30 or 10 local news hour.
It sounds to me like they might just be shortening their Ten News First at Five, to the simpler 10 News First.
The point that blackbox made on his podcast, and me before that…
That would make absolutely no sense. It would be a fake brand.
The change to 10 News First implies to me that they could be moving away from the traditional 5pm timeslot (or adding another evening bulletin) and rejigging their early evening timeslot to address the low viewership numbers.
As an overall brand it also makes it possible to use in different time slots without any implications, so adding other bulletins when viable to do is made relatively simple.
Likely also that it doesn’t imply a first start time but first with the news, which is nothing more than a marketing and brand statergy and to diversify themselves from 7/9 respectively.
Whilst with current staffing levels it doesn’t make much sense, who knows when this is set to be implemented and what resources and staffing they’ll have available to them when they go live.
10 News First is meaningless in this day and age… as meaningless as “First at Five”.
The other networks have news “first” at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm. It’s no longer even the first local news of the day, Seven and Nine both take care of that at 4.
Plus the use of “First” as a news brand has been well and truely worn out by “First at Five” “First on Nine” as well as Seven’s version whatever it is.
And worse for all the TV networks, the reality these days is “First on Facebook” or other social media platforms.
Next idea please!
“10 News First” can work if they have strong news in the morning, and news in prime-time fringe (9:30/10).
