Yeah I just don’t see it. But they have made it clear Lyle sexually assaulted Eric.
I can’t force you to see what you don’t want to see.
Finish the series off and then have a read online about what everyone else took from it. I’ve linked you three of about 100 articles slamming the insinuation.
The father sexually assaulted both of them. They made that clear as day, but they are insinuating the brothers were in a sexual relationship as confirmed finally by Nathan’s character at the end where the writers have made the character say it.
It’s not what I don’t want to see but I just know I’m watching a show about sexual assault.
Again I’m not going to finish your whole comment because I don’t want to be spoiled but yes I will keep watching and come back to you. I was just basing this off what you were talking about after 4 episodes. Not the whole series.
It’s not only about sexual assault though.
95% of it is. And what happens when one is sexually assaulted and the consequences of it.
This particular article addresses the incest insinuation from episodes two and four, both of which you said you’ve seen and confirms my posts earlier regarding those episodes.
The innuendo kicks off in the second episode, titled “Spree,” where it’s hinted that Lyle, now 56, and Erik, 53, had a romantic relationship — starting with a scene where Lyle (portrayed by Nicholas Chavez) enthusiastically kisses his brother (Cooper Koch).
In another episode, viewers see Lyle and Erik are dancing seductively at a party together before Lyle does a line of cocaine. He then comes up to his brother, who is dancing with a woman and gets between them.
Obviously everyone interprets things differently but it’s very clear a lot of the viewers have formed the impression that they were lovers based off these episodes.
Look I looked at the other factors involved - being drugs. And drugs and repressed memories could lead to those sorts of things happening.
Is anyone watching this or have watched this that wants to weigh in with their interpretation? lol
I’m on ep 2. The whole thing is fucking weird.
I’m not sure I want to continue on tbh.
Are you seeing the incest innuendo?
Oh I’m not saying you are alone with your thoughts. Clearly from the articles others have seen it too. I just see a difference between incest and the repercussions of being a victim of sexual assault.
Incest is incest. If the brothers were in a sexual relationship as suggested, it doesn’t matter how it came to be, they still were (allegedly) together which is incest.
They were clearly both sexual assault victims and sure they probably wouldn’t have been sexual together if that didn’t happen but incest is incest. There is no middle ground there.
Yes but I don’t think it’s as simple as that. Especially off what I have watched thus far. Again I think you have seen more than I have so I am only basing it off that comment you made earlier on where I didn’t understand how you got they were in a relationship. I am basing it off the claims they have made about being sexually assaulted and the fact Lyle has admitted to sexually assaulting his brother. From cases I studied in criminal law it was often something that came out from sexual assault child victims that they would try the same on their family members.
The only claim of incest I can see is a kiss on the lips which is a very Italian/Greek thing to do to family members, a few back rubs (my family often give one another back massages) and a high moment at a party (I kissed a 60 year old women on cocaine thinking it was a man). The even joked about this on that Euro Trip movie.
It most definitely is not. A kiss on the cheek, even between men, yes. But these are very conservative people who would not kiss family members on the lips.
Yes!
Ok I’m going back in for another try.
Ok well I witnessed some strange family dynamics in my time on the Mediterranean.
Territory starts on Netflix 24 October 2024.
