That makes how many versions of the theme song now?
Despite my dislike for her character and her singing, the small glimpse of the tune we heard actually doesn’t sound to bad.
I am hoping to see the iconic saxophone come into play again during the opening one day, the 1992 theme was my personal favourite.

A terrifying two-hander episode featuring Jackie Woodburne and Rob Mills tonight.
was just about to write the same thing.
Tonight’s episode was a two-hander one. No opener (theme music/intro) either. Just had Jackie Woodbourne and Rob Mills’ names on the screen. It was good, and something different.
Talk about a coincidental timing with social distancing and not feature anyone else.
There was a long interview with Rob Mills in today’s Herald Sun. He said it was an honour to film the two-parter and shed a few tears while shooting the scenes. He said:
I don’t want to compare myself to Joaquin (Phoenix) in Joker, but you can see the events and moments that led him there. The neglect from his parents, he didn’t fulfil his potential and a lot stems from his childhood. Trauma, PTSD, it all led him to crazy ways.
Aster was also in the episode.
Tonight’s episode was the best episode I’ve ever seen. They absolutely outdid themselves. Colette Mann, Chris Milligan, Stefan Dennis and Jackie Woodburne were excellent. And of course Rob Mills was incredible as the psychopathic Finn. Huge praise for the writers who tied up most of the storylines with recaps from the others on the island.
Bonnie Anderson puts her spin on the iconic Neighbours theme song
You’d struggle to find an Aussie who couldn’t hum, whistle or belt out the beloved Neighbours theme song. And, from tonight at 6.30pm audiences will be treated to a shiny new version recorded by Ramsay Street resident and songstress, Bonnie Anderson.
From the classic version recorded by Barry Crocker 35 years ago to Melbourne producer, Dariush Etemad’s Mardi Gras remix in 2019, the theme has seen many make-overs and now it’s time for Bonnie to make her mark.
Joining the Neighbours cast in 2018, Bonnie’s character, Bea Nillson has quickly become a fan favourite. On screen her musical talents have made their way to Erinsborough and now she’ll join the honour roll of performers chosen to put their twist on our favourite television tune.
Neighbours star, Bonnie Anderson, said: “It was an honour to be asked to do this, honestly I got quite emotional. I get a bit nervous singing this song because it’s been around for 35 years.
“I know there are so many fans out there, so I hope to do you proud and that my version grows on you. I am very grateful for this opportunity.”

It’s nice but I feel it’s needs more backing vocals? Sounds too empty? It also doesn’t really suit the pace of the titles as well?
I like the new song (was not really a fan of the current) but I agree about the credits. The song is too slow-paced for them and I think it would suit more if they were more of a reflections-style.
Would have also been nice if Bea started tonight by singing it before they rolled the titles. Then, the audience would know if was her actor singing it.
Unnecessary. That would be like breaking the the fourth wall.
Neighbours is hoping to continue filming until the end of next week which was their scheduled production break. Filming has adjusted to new government rules and social distancing requirements.
Channel Five UK are reducing to two episodes a week from 30th March; I expect Peach to do the same, as the two countries normally show episodes on the same day.
So they must be expecting a longer break after Easter.
A 10 spokesperson told TV Tonight , “ Neighbours will continue to give viewers fresh entertainment while they are at home – five nights a week on 10 Peach.”
I can’t see is going back into production after the 14th.
The first episode directed by Deborra will air on June 10. It will feature actors Matt Wilson and Takaya Honda and their foster child, Emmett, played by Ezra Justin.
