Neighbours

Did they use the normal opening credits?

Yes.

Does seem to be a hopeful situation based on this tweet.

So, 9361 episodes is the final number?

9363 according to the fan page neighboursepisodes.com

As Susan said, there are three “options” if someone wants to pick up or spin-off the series:

  • Neighbours (Ramsay St, status quo continues as the Freeway acquisition is defeated)
  • Robinson Towers (based in a CBD hotel/apartment complex)
  • Ramsay Hills (set in a new outer suburban housing estate)

They left it open for any of the characters to choose any of the options. I know it won’t satisfy many as a finale, but it was actually a clever way to go about it.

Maybe like “Always Greener” where the story lines evolve and they interweve between all three areas.

A Bit like Sons and Daughters too.

It was always going to be impossible to beat the last big final with its all-star reunion, but this was just phoned in. No sense of event or anything.

Couldn’t even wrap up with some credits or a nostalgic slideshow or montage, just jump straight into a Law And Order. Was to be expected, though. Ten did similar last time.

They probably want viewers to watch it again on 10play, which I presume will have the full credits sequence intact.

The episode is already up on 10watchandstreamfree, and they’re not there. Horrid performance by 10, given that, according to this video, they took time to show the credits last time around.

Well if anyone wanted to know an example of a stock-standard, anticlimatic and pointless finale, look no further than the finale tonight. Seriously what a let down, especially given the send-off last time in 2022 which was spectacular, this one was like ‘eh no one gives a…’

Can’t wait for the next iteration of Neighbours when Netflix gives its third resurrection circa 2030…sarcasm

Just echoing what others have said.

I didn’t expect the final to top or equal the last Final from a few years ago. But tonight did lack something. It seemed just like a standard episode. It needed a little more oomph.

There was a normal opening sequence. Very cliché (and minor) mentions in the show that tonight was “deja vu”. and had been here before. Even Karl mentioning Susan’s epic final speech from that final night. To an average closer with Karl, Susan and Paul talking in the middle of the street. To no closing credits. We haven’t seen a closing credits for two years! Tonight was the perfect way to do so.

I still watched it. Like I had been doing so for years. Will miss it. But could have done better.

Seems to be 10 practice now for any show they dont show end credits.

That’s bizarre i don’t recall them doing that last time but it certainly appears to have aired like that?

Credits did air at the last final.
The Neighbours theme started as we saw the last few glimpses of the characters, before various theme song renditions aired during the credits - with older and newer cast photos airing behind the credits.

At least in the 2022 finale, we got a short opening credits montage.
Neighbours: The Perfect Blend | 2022 Opening Titles | Version Nine

So I’ve just finished watching, and I agree, it was a big let down.

IMO, it would’ve flowed better if they did the tours of the potential locations in the first episode, then have Terase and Paul’s vow renewal in the second episode.

Then at the last minute, someone like Sam, or Annalise, or even Harold if Ian Smith is up for it, come in, say they have news about the street, then sudden cut to black (Sopranos style), then, as the theme tune plays, have glimpses into the future of what each scenario could look like (i.e. a few glimpses into Robinson Towers, a few glimpses at Ramsey Hills, and a few glimpses into if Ramsey Street is still there)

Also, no Toadie?

I think it’s incredibly selfish of Jason Herbison again to be giving false hope to viewers. He really needed to think about the show itself and give viewers a permanent ending. They can always be undone. It is a soap after all. This constant leaving the door opening and teasing viewers about reboots is just cruel.

I have to agree that the episode was more like The Perfect Bland than The Perfect Blend. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

If it ever comes back, I think it will more likely be a reboot than a revival. A limited series. Maybe like Wentworth out of Prisoner.
