Neighbours

UK soap Eastenders had two characters move to Australia in today’s episode. As a tribute to Neighbours they featured songs by Neighbours actors turned singers.

This clip features Stefan Dennis in the background singing Don’t It Make You Feel Good. This was followed by Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan and Holly Valance.

No episode on Wednesday?

No, A double eill be on Thursday instead. They couldnt do the double on Wednesday due to Amazon.

I did mention elsewhere, i wouldve aired a special on Monday then ran the show without interruptions Tues to Thursday

I think they should just air Wednesday and Thursday as usual at 4pm and just have the special late screening too.

Agreed. No where near enough interest for changes to the schedule and a prime time airing.

I think they should’ve had an episode on Wednesday and on Thursday have a full one-hour episode, rather than two episodes stuck together.

Edit: Two episodes stuck together is an insult to the show.

It’s Time To Say Goodbye.

The Unmissable Neighbours Finale. Thursday, 11 December At 8:40pm On 10.

After four decades of love and friendship, betrayal and scandal, captivating characters and unexpected plots twists, the iconic Australian drama series Neighbours, is gearing up for its final episode, and Ramsay Street is anything but quiet.

10s promo of 15 seconds couldn’t be more bland if they tried.

It’s a hard one - re the promotion of it all.

One side, I’m very disappointed in TEN for not promoting the final weeks or doing much during the Amazon Era…

However,

I do get them not pushing it. It’s already “ended” once. They put so much promo into the 2022 finale and gave it a good send-off primetime, and it paid off in the ratings…

This was always going to kinda happen with the inevitable ending of the Amazon era… It may have come quicker than expected, but the show is always going to go out with a whimper after the pretty stellar 2022 series finale.

I’m not sure but I think I’m actually more sad about it ending this time than I was last time. I have a new job where I finish work at 4 so I’ve been able to get home and watch the last 15-20 minutes and it was more just to watch like a car crash where I couldn’t turn away but lately things have been really good with some of the story lines and I realised I had been sucked in - which hasn’t happened since the House of Trouser era and the mid-2000s with all the school kids and Karl and Izzy etc…

I didn’t like the storyline suddenly appearing about the imminent demolition of Ramsay Street but it is actually a pretty good one for giving a finality for everyone and for them to be selling off all the bits of history at the op shops and tearing down the studios etc… Having such a full on ending ends all the hope of “I hope someone else picks it up” and means that it truly is the end of the era. I can still remember when the Kennedy’s moved in and so they still feel new but I guess they’ve been round long enough to have a well earned recognition of their parts.

On another note, I wonder how Ian Smith (Harold) is going with his cancer treatment where the prognosis wasn’t good but the last reports seemed more positive. I would also have liked to have seen something with Tom Oliver (Lou Carpenter) at some point because he was such an integral part of the show for so many years too and with his character but I guess he probably wanted to retire to the quiet life so I hope he’s going ok.

Lou Carpenter could have come in as a recently graduated psychologist. He could have been talking to Paul in a session and ask some bizarre questions like “do you like going to the toilet?” (a line from his role on Kingswood Country).

But seriously I also hope Tom is doing well, I also hope Ian Bishop is doing well too

Harold Bishop aka Ian Smith……I like that you combined his real name and character name there

Emmerdale is set to air an (unintentional) Neighbours tribute on the day of its (second) last-ever episode, as Jason Donovan rocks up in the village to give a special performance at the Woolpack
