Rebrand as Nine News to strengthen ties to the national brand, then when they move to their new premises, capitalise on the local-ness of their location and strengthen ties to the community as Nine News. Instead of moving and rebranding at the same time, let the Nine News brand strengthen on its own first.
Hereâs the replay of the Newcastle Dawn Service from NBN News this morning.
All female news team this weekend on NBN.
Meanwhile in brandingâŚ
Itâs obvious the NBN name is not going anywhere !
Just pick one already⌠Nine OR NBN ⌠(personally I prefer NBN)
I agree that the branding is very clunky.
Even after 12 months, I still canât quite get my head around a program called âNBN Newsâ on âChannel Nineâ.
Still looks, sounds and feels awkward to me.
Especially against the afternoon bulletins.
Within the 6pm bulletin, itâs a total shemozzle⌠NBN doesnât know if itâs Arthur or Martha half the time.
They should cobrand it if they have too⌠eg. âNine NBN Newsâ⌠most of the reports on the bulletin come from Nine News reporters anyway.
Two presenters?
Hardly ground breaking.
first time ever for NBN News, so groundbreaking for them.
I think itâs mainly for cooperate reasons within the Hunter, Iâd wish they would change it but anyway.
a few have left recently - Paddy Kilmurray, Georgina Smyth and one of their Taree reporters whose name I have forgotten.
New recruit in Newcastle is Alex Heinke.
Iâd be rather interested to know if Chris White is still at NBN News. Thereâs another one we havenât heard from for a while.
I think you might be referring to Tahlia Sarv, who is still reporting for NBN News but has moved South to Newcastle. As far as I can tell, NBN Newsâ new Taree reporter is Georgia Maher.
Of the North Coast regions, I think Coffs Harbour and Lismore have two reporters for NBN News while Taree and Port Macquarie get one. Although donât quote me on that!
Central Coast has two reporters as well (Sally Rafferty is one, I think Sarah El-Moselhi is the other).
Did Paddy leave again? Whereâs he gone this time?
@VIKTRESocial Content Manager - Oceania.
I just saw a slide on NBN News advertising the Budget Special at 10:40 tonight with Laurie Oakes. It had a large 9 News logo in the middle of the screen. I missed getting a shot of it. Now that theyâre obviously advertising 9 News on NBN News, I wonder if this indicates that there may be a name change soon?
Edit: the last image in the post below is the one that was shown, but from 9 News Sydney:
Itâs great to see NBN still doing Junior Journos.
Tonight NBN News aired the NSW State Of Origin âliveâ team announcement that was hosted by Tim Gilbert from Star City Casino that was also on Nine News Sydney.
The NBN airing happened about 1 min after it was on Nine News but didnât have a solid coverup of the Nine News logo on the super (like they have for the afternoon news). It just had the regular NBN News watermark superimposed over it, and it looked a bit clunky. Sorry I didnât get a cap.
Hmm, I wonder if Amanda Bennett & Sally Rafferty are going to be reporters for the new regional Queensland editions of Nine News?
In any case, best wishes to them on their new endeavours!
