Yes, I would also like to see an update of the Cool Hand Luke theme and equally importantly, for NBN News to start using it.
If NBN News ever adopts Nine Newsâ theme music then they should go all the way and adopt the name, no ifs or buts.
really? it sounds like some very dated stock-music.
Composed by the legendary Lawrence Schubeth who has done NBN News for as long as I can remember.
cool, it sounds like some very dated stock-music.
The voiceovers of Jane cut out about halfway through when it was broadcast live, leaving just the music and videos of her talking - at least in the Northern Rivers market.
Sounds way better than it did before the current remix. I actually donât mind it.
Had a look at NBN News, the picture quality on filed reports and from the studio does look a bit smoother, definitely not HD though. The graphics are still awful though.
I was surprised that a report on Hunter region COVID case numbers was aired across the network, it didnât mention any other regions, that surely should have been in the local window.
Three live reports in the first five minutes tonight - Newy, Tamworth and Taree.
Not bad at all.
I have a belief that the much-loved (on Mediaspy) QTQ9 News stories are making their way down the coast and onto NBN News.
For 2 days running Iâve seen promos which arenât voiced by Peter Overton, which use glary graphics and arenât really ânewsâ stories.
This one tonight is a bloke who won a 2 million dollar property plus $100k in gold. It looked and felt like an ACA promo.
Please donât NBN.
I think that story is worthwhile if it involves a person from the viewing area. Everyone likes an uplifting human interest story. The Sydney bulletin often makes mention of big lottery wins in Sydney. There was one last night about a winner whoâd had to rummage through the garbage to retrieve a winning ticket.
Raining nicely in Newcastle this evening and can be clearly heard in studio.
Hurry up and move to Honeysuckle for goodness sake.
Would rain still be heard in the background of Honeysuckle-presented bulletins if it was heavy enough though?
Canât hear it in our airlocked studios. We could hear the low-flying fighter jet though when it did laps during Supercars!
Youâd hope theyâd airlock a studio for broadcast purposes.
To be fair, Mosbri Crescent was built in a different time with different building practices and soundproofing technologies (likely very little) available. Retrofitting has probably happened since it was built, but there would always be shortcomings in retrofitting compared to fresh builds or extensive refurbishments up to standards of the time.
Iâm sure that their new home will be adequately soundproofed and insulated though.
Did anyone record the news tonight, a mates dad was at the pub for the first report and he wanted a recording of it, thought this might be the best place to find it.
Theyâll probably post the report to their social pages
