Switched from 7News to NBN for the weather segment as usual on weekends, but only caught the very end of it today and there was a highlights package for Jane Goldsmith.
Was worried that she was retiring - but turns out it was to celebrate 20 years with NBN! Hopefully they will post it online.
Jane started as a casual with PRIME Newcastle in 2000, and then joined NBN News, where she has been ever since. A nice article here:
Am I the only one who finds the Rewind segment a bit underdone?
I kinda assumed they’d do a 3-4 minute piece with interviews of long time/former presenters, journos, staff and crew and have someone like Ray Dineen narrate it to give it the nostalgia vibe.
Yes kinda like Seven News Brisbane with their “Flashback” segment. Go deep into the archives and interview people in the current day talking about the story. Seems a bit more thought is needed.
While probably not as fresh as it was in 2014, I personally think NBN News’ theme music is the only element of their current branding which is actually more modern than Nine’s!
It’ll be interesting to see (or more to the point, hear) whether after the move they keep the current theme music, bring in a new/updated version or just run Nine’s.
Nine themself need to update their theme. While its certainly not terrible, its just feeling a bit outdated now. I’ve always liked how 10 update their theme with each package (for the most part). Keeps it fresh.
