Weekend/Saturday NBC Today has been broadcasting from the Meet The Press studio since early March, as both anchors are based in Washington, D.C, but now they have moved into their own studio.

Not the first time the weekend edition has been broadcast from Washington, D.C. Garrick Utley, Maria Shriver, Mary-Alice Williams and Al Roker used to present from the capital 30 years ago when Utley hosted Meet The Press in addition to Sunday Today.

I remember watching their âToday at 60â special live. They brought back a lot of past anchors and newsreaders. Probably a better product then compared to now. Thatâs gone
very quickly.

I have the Today at 40 special on VHS and Today at 50 on DVD. Always looked forward to those specials but I doubt weâll see anchor reunions on the next big milestone celebration considering what has happened in the past decade with Curry and Lauer. Sadly, the show is a shadow of its former self now and I seldom watch.
I got a big kick out of seeing Jane Pauley and Bryant Gumbel hosting together for a couple of shows around the 60th anniversary. Took me back to my teenage years when Iâd study until midnight and then watch Jane and Bryant before going to bed. American news show presentation was such a novelty to Australians when Seven first started airing Today. Always lots of interesting comments in the media columns about how the yanks did things, particularly the âhappy talkâ segments and criss crossing to reporters all over the world before that became common here.

Variety is reporting Tom Brokaw is about to formally retire from NBC News after 55 years. Brokaw has been a special correspondent with the network since stepping away from NBC Nightly News in 2004.

It looks okay, but Iâm not a fan of all of the sliding transitions across the supers. Something simpler with fades in/out work much better IMO.

The sharp angles donât match the curves of the Today logo
