Name songs that are flogged by commercial radio but you still like

Paul Simon , “You Can Call Me Al”

Agree! I never tire of that song.

Message to My Girl - Split Enz

I haven’t heard it in while though.

I Wanna Dance With Somebody / Whitney Houston. Don’t judge :). Honestly I hear that song basically every single day and I never, ever tire of it. There are a few others but that one is No. 1 by a mile in this category. Something about the intro that just conveys energy.

Totally agree… all time classic!

Candy / Iggy Pop is another one.

Come On Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners. Best heard with the violin intro

That was true for me for many many years, but I finally got sick of it. It took a while.

Barbados by the models.

I don’t hear that song much, it’s usually “Out Of Mind Out Of Sight” from them for me.

But fortunately I like both songs

(I Just) Died In Your Arms - Cutting Crew.

Gets absolutely flogged but I never get sick of hearing it.

Pretty good version.

Together in Electric Dreams. I hear this song pretty much every damn day but love it!

Yes it sounds like we have the same taste of music.

We Belong /Pat Benatar is another one.

I’m currently listening to Absolute 80s and they just played that straight after Together In Electric Dreams. Sounded great back to back.

Hozier, “Take Me to Church “

Agree. That song is so unusual in that it’s quite a “heavy” sounding song but in the US it gets so much airplay on soft AC radio - it seems so out of place on some stations like KOST and even softer stations.

We will together by The Eurogliders

What about “Heaven (Must Be There)” by the same group? Also gets flogged oftenly.

Happy with any Eurogliders song really.

Though I’d rather stations play ‘Absolutely’, ‘Maybe Only I Dream’, or ‘Groove’ more.
