My Reno Rules

But is anyone else sensing a theme here? They poached Chris from Ten, essentially Adrian from nine as he was the only one buying the houses on The Block and keeping interest in the show, Alex from Nine and now Neale from The Block and Nine. Who next? Sarah Harris?

You’re a bit slow, aren’t you? Seven have been doing this for years. Have you forgotten Jamie Durie for House Rules, and Natalie Gruzlewski for Farmer Wants A Wife?

They also nabbed Matt Preston and Gary Mehigan as replacements for Pete Evans on MKR but then changed their minds and rebranded it as Plate of Origin. But that flopped and MKR came back.

Not to mention Michael Usher, Mark Ferguson, mike Munro and Liz Hayes has also reportedly moved to Seven.

Yes but all for the same show and from the direct rival they definitely sending a message.

Neale was on Sunrise this morning talking about the show.

Isn’t this just some carbon copy of House Rules? Surely.

My Reno Rules is a brand-new renovation competition that’s raising the stakes and flipping the script, with epic twists set to transform the lives of everyday Aussies. Hosted by Dr Chris Brown, My Reno Rules will be must-watch television, with four hardworking teams of Aussie battlers going head-to-head, breathing new life into two neighbouring rundown houses in a picturesque Melbourne suburb. The live grand final will see some lucky Australians receive a life-changing call telling them they’ve won a spectacularly renovated, multi-million-dollar home: fully furnished, landscaped and equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

Joining Dr Chris are style icon Neale Whitaker, top buyer’s agent Simon Cohen and interiors expert Julia Green as the judging panel. My Reno Rules is a new format produced by Endemol Shine Australia (a Banijay Entertainment Company) and distributed internationally by Banijay Rights.

Adrian Portelli pitched My Reno Rules to Nine.

Both of his “pitches” must have hinged on Mr. Cullen’s continued employment, as it seems strange that this information is only coming to light now—especially considering Portelli was effectively the reason Cullen was dismissed from his previous roles, and was, presumably, one of the main reasons (if not the sole reason) he was later “welcomed back” so warmly into the Seven fold.

Asbestos discovery briefly halts My Reno Rules filming

Filming on My Reno Rules has briefly shut down after asbestos was uncovered inside the two Bulleen houses bought by Adrian Portelli for Channel 7’s ambitious 2026 renovation gamble.

Sources close to the production confirmed to NewsCorp Australia work stopped for several days when crews identified “suspect material” inside the 1960-70s homes in Pinnacle Cres, the same properties Portelli purchased earlier this year for about $2.7m and donated to the series.

An industry insider rubbished claims, labelling the reports as “ridiculous”.

The two houses in Bulleen are not far from the house renovated in season 2 of House Rules in 2014, for then owners Adam Dovile and Lisa Lamond, who went on to win the season.

Also in Q2 is My Reno Rules hosted by Dr. Chris Brown in which 4 teams renovate two neighbouring houses in Melbourne. The show also features stylist Neale Whitaker, buyer’s agent Simon Cohen, interiors expert Julia Green and an on-screen presence from high-profile entrepreneur Adrian Portelli. Is Seven confident its new property partner can avoid controversy?

“He’s a strong presence in the show. He’s not driving narratives but he’s in the show. I’m not going to shy away from that. Has he caused one problem in production, has he been anything but a gentleman in his dealings with either Seven or the production company? No,” Hall insists.

“We’re used to, in reality show, seeing contestants win a big prize. Well, the ones in this are going to win a big prize. The other thing about this show is a viewer is going to an enormous prize. So I think the trade offs and benefits are going to come through. We haven’t seen the finished production, and we’re going to see rough cuts of the show very soon.”

The biggest giveaway in Australian television history

It’s the biggest giveaway in Australian television history!

Adrian Portelli is a self‑made billionaire and he’s about to do something he’s never done before: give away two spectacularly renovated, multi‑million‑dollar homes to two lucky Australian families on My Reno Rules, coming soon to Seven and 7plus.

Hosted by Dr Chris Brown, My Reno Rules sees four hardworking teams of Aussie battlers go head‑to‑head as they breathe new life into two neighbouring, rundown houses in a picturesque Melbourne suburb.

Their mission? To transform these properties into breathtaking homes for the chance to win massive prize money and help secure their own futures.

To win, the contestants must impress the My Reno Rules judges: style icon Neale Whitaker (The Block and Love It or List It), top buyer’s agent Simon Cohen (Dream Home, Luxe Listings Sydney), and Julia Green, founder of Greenhouse Interiors – the number one destination for boutique homewares, fine art and interior styling services.

But it’s not just the contestants who walk away winners. In a must‑watch television event, the live grand final will see two lucky Australian families receive a life‑changing call telling them they have each won a renovated, fully furnished, fully landscaped, state‑of‑the‑art home.

My Reno Rules is completely unpredictable, and the rules can change at any moment. What will happen that leaves the contestants speechless?

My Reno Rules is a new format produced by Endemol Shine Australia (a Banijay Entertainment Company) and distributed internationally by Banijay Rights for the Seven Network.

Looks like we have the names of the pairs taking part on the show, based on the comments on Seven’s Instagram yesterday after the video was posted.

I wonder what the contestants actually win? You’d want it to be pretty significant. 100k wont cut it.

Two houses currently tucked away somewhere.

Yes but, what do the contestants win?

The latest promo has a couple crying when Adrian makes the announcement about what the prize is. I’m wondering if he will pay off their mortgage?

Can they create buzz for this show. Nothing I’ve seen makes it look interesting.

First team for the series: Mitch and Shaz
