Two multi-million-dollar luxury homes up for grabs in Seven’s new series My Reno Rules

Coming to Seven and 7plus in 2026, My Reno Rules is a brand-new renovation competition that’s raising the stakes and flipping the script with two epic twists set to transform the lives of everyday Aussies.

Hosted by Dr Chris Brown, My Reno Rules sees four hardworking teams of Aussie battlers going head-to-head, breathing new life into two neighbouring rundown houses in a picturesque Melbourne suburb. Their mission? To transform these properties into breathtaking homes for the chance to win life-changing prize money to secure their own futures.

But it’s not just the contestants who walk away with the prize.

In a must-watch television event, the live grand final will see two lucky Australians receive a life-changing call telling them they’ve both won a spectacularly renovated, multi-million-dollar home – fully furnished, landscaped and equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

The live prize draw will be managed by principal program sponsor, Adrian Portelli of LMCT+.

Dr Chris Brown said: “The term ‘life-changing’ can get thrown around a lot on TV, but this is absolutely that. Imagine winning a brand-new home – that’s going to be the reality for two lucky Aussies. And if you’re a passionate renovator, you could also win a massive cash prize. With the dream of owning your own home still top of the list for most Aussies, I can’t wait to have a front row seat to that becoming a reality. It’s going to be a heartwarming ride!”

LMCT+ founder Adrian Portelli said: “LMCT+ has always been about changing the lives of everyday Australians, so when this opportunity came up with Seven, it just felt right. For me, it’s about giving back – and doing it in a way that’s big, bold and exciting.

“These homes are in a beautiful area and have real potential. With the right teams and vision, they’re going to be incredible. I can’t wait to be part of a show granting lucky Aussies a brand-new future, and inspiring thousands more along the way.”

Seven Group Managing Director, Television, Angus Ross said: “My Kitchen Rules is one of Australia’s most successful original formats and a powerhouse brand for Seven. My Reno Rules takes all the heart and heat of MKR and applies it to renovation.

“With showstopping house transformations, a life-changing cash prize for our winning team of renovators, and two multi-million-dollar dream homes up for grabs in an electrifying live grand final, we couldn’t be more excited for the premiere of My Reno Rules. It’s going to be next level!”

Endemol Shine Australia, Director of Content, Tara McWilliams said: “My Reno Rules is as big and bold as a show can get and we couldn’t be more excited to bring it to life. With a prize of unprecedented scale, it promises to deliver high-stakes entertainment and a live finale that will have the whole country talking!”

Casting is underway for teams of renovators with an eye for design to join My Reno Rules – apply here now.

House Rules 2.0?

It will be interesting to see whom the judges will be.

That’s exactly what I’m thinking.

On a random note, I also recall the My Restaurant Rules format that existed between 2004-05 wherein couples needed to renovate and run a restaurant in their home cities. I quite liked that format.

So basically a rip-off of The Block with the title ripped from from MRK.

Definitely 100% won’t be rigged by the guy who is somehow able to buy all the houses on The Block for the past couple years, and is currently before the courts in South Australia for allegedly running an unlicenced lottery.

You would think that Seven announced the show now, to give Adrian sufficient time to apply for necessary permits to conduct the live prize draw next year.

Either way the guy is very shady and doesn’t have a clean track record without the court case.

I think Seven might have done Nine a favour by “poaching” this guy from The Block that will produce a better auction day without him.

a bit of a stretch

Are Seven out of their mind? They just keep rehashing the same old crap again and again and thinking it would stick.

Sounds like a very convoluted contest, no doubt wanting to have some point of difference from The Block. If it gets programmed in the vacant slot left by Honeymoon Island it would finishes up around this time next year. Part of the plan would be to preempt The Block and might take viewers away who have had enough renos for the year.

Yeah sure Seven, totally not the third name for the same thing…

House Rules Dream House My Reno Rules.
Very original concept.

This is what people thought Dream Home was going to be right? They made it seem like ‘everyday Aussies’ would be getting their houses renovated and not the contestants

House rules was a moderate success when it aired last.

I think they are basically getting this one sponsored by Adrian. So it’s cost effective. Without Adrian there would be no show. So that’s your answer as to why.

They should have just gone back to the House Rules branding.

Yawn another generic Reno format.

It looks like they are trying to do The Block while also fixing the criticism of The Block - that The Block houses just go to rich people who are looking for their 4th investment property.

So we have legal gambling back on TV now?

Given his track record, jury is still out on that key aspect

When will 7 learn that you can’t emulate the success of the block. Nine of their Reno shows have done well.
Now they are getting in bed with a shady character.
Classy.
