The judges and guest teams can already mark teams down for lateness and they sometimes do. That is sufficient. I don’t think hard time limits would work well in IRs.
So some states will see MKR at 7pm followed by the Closing Ceremony at 8.30 - not sure where that leaves SA and WA.
Apparently MKR is to return the same night as the Closing Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games. Why does Seven persist on doing a repeat of what they did with Spartan on the Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony night? I hated this!!! Just leave it to the damn Closing Ceremony and start it on Monday the night after!!
@TV.Cynic the ad showed in WA so I assume that means it’s the same for WA so it means another delayed Closing Ceremony on the main channel and having to watch it live in shitty SD on 7mate again…
I could not believe Seven will be repeating the trick (reality show followed by closing ceremony of a major games) - Why?
I assume SA and NT will have MKR at 6.30pm followed by Commonwealth Games closing ceremony afterwards.
Exactly!! It failed spectacularly with Spartan and the Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony…
As someone who doesn’t enjoy MKR, I am hoping this strategy backfires on 7 and that MKR has a slow second half of their season.
Rumour has it that they will do the same thing with the finale and the closing ceremony of the 2020 Olympics. The way this season is going, it’ll still be dragged out to then.
Yes but that’s due to a combination of MAFS and viewers rejecting Spartan because it seemed like a poor rip-off of Australian Ninja Warrior.
The strategy will perform much better with a stronger show as its ‘anchor’
But for someone living in Perth, I hate this strategy because it means that we have to watch the Closing Ceremony delayed in HD on the main channel…
Are they still touting this shit, someone should tweet 7 to tell them nobody cares.
It has been waaay overhyped, that’s for sure,
Good to know that it will definitely be the week after the games.
According to TV Week, it would be either Jess & Emma or Sonia & Hadil who would be thrown out of question. It started at Jess & Emma’s ultimate instant restaurant, continue at Henry & Anna’s restaurant and culminate at Kim & Suong’s instant restaurant next Wednesday (April 18) where Manu had enough and sent one team out.
Problem is, if Jess & Emma were evicted, would their scores towards other instant restaurants still count? Conversely, if Sonia & Hadil were evicted before they had a chance to cook, would there still be another elimination at the end of seven rounds of ultimate instant restaurants?
Think it was already stated that they just kept going with the instant restaurants and didnt bring anyone back
Next week’s episodes
Sunday
The biggest prize of the season outside the Grand Final is on offer to one of our Top 8 teams to have their ice cream sold in Coles Supermarkets across Australia. Which team will lick the competition?
THE WINNING TEAM WILL HAVE THEIR ICE CREAM WILL BE AVAILABLE IN COLES SUPERMARKETS FROM MONDAY 16 APRIL ($5 FOR 500ML TUB).
Monday
The Super Dinner Parties are here and this year they’re tougher than ever before. As the best of the best cook, one team will be thrown out of the competition
Tuesday
Baton down the hatches for the blow up which leads to one team leaving the competition for good.
Wednesday
It’s here! For the first time in MKR history, one team is asked to leave the table.
Are you kidding Seven? Why have another irrelevant episode (ice cream challenge) before the ultimate instant restaurant? This episode should have been shown before the Commonwealth Games break.
Well presuming there are still 48 episodes in the season, it looks like one team gets booted from the competition and one will be properly eliminated based on getting the lowest score at the end of the ultimate instant restaurants. Then there will be two quarter final nights and two semi final nights where a team will be eliminated each night before the grand final which I’m guessing will be on Sunday May 6.
Maybe, but obviously tied into the marketing of the product in supermarkets.
WTF. I just saw a promotion for MKR on Seven’s Commonwealth Games coverage using one of their light rail trains, somehow projecting some of the images from the infamous ad about the team being thrown out of the competition onto the train as it was moving along. I’ve never seen anything like it before. I don’t have caps unfortunately, Seven may show it again.
Highway robbery there…
