My Kitchen Rules

But who builds a house with two massive kitchens?

No but I could

His and hers basins in the bathrooms then his and hers kitchens. It’s a completely logical progression.

They do say a kitchen sells a house. Two kitchens makes a certainty.

Sounds to me like the same voice-over guy as last year (and every other year, IIRC). It’s a very distinctive voice so I can see why some people wouldn’t like it, but I think it suits the show and I wouldn’t change it.

Yep, Septimus Caton is still the voiceover guy (you can see the credits here).
Seven has finally posted the clips of group 2 teams scoring Ash & Matty and Stella & Jazzey in last night’s cook off. Ash & Matty got a few 5s, while Stella & Jazzey got 7s and 8s even though the guests had mixed opinions on the waitresses’ menu.

Not for me it doesn’t.

Means twice as much washing up to do

Just use the other kitchen and shut the door.

Henry and Anna had a great start, scoring an impressive 107 on the back of brie and bread entree and venison main, both of which included truffles. They should easily top the group.
Pete added that Henry and Anna’s 107 was higher than any other score from group 1, meaning group 2 instant restaurants were filmed after group 1. Had they been filmed during the same period, Seven could have saved on airfares and accommodation for the judges and the teams.

Well doesn’t it make logical sense that the episodes would be filmed in chronological order, with group 2’s instant restaurants happening after group 1’s?

It can’t work that way anyway because the judges, teams and crew have families and other commitments. Also, the shooting days are often long and exhausting and we have been told that they need breaks between them. So they can’t just hang around the cities for days to do that.

Go and have a listen to it. It didn’t sound like it was said at the dinner table. It sounded dropped in after production - as if narrated. And to me it looks like no one really commented on it.

Tonight’s Adelaide based contestants are shown driving along the western perimeter of the airport, down to Coles Warradale (SW suburb) and then back through the CBD to the east/north side of Adelaide,.

They are not seen going to any other shops other than Coles. Warradale to the CBD alone is a 20 min drive even at this time of night (according to Google Maps).

I find this quite baffling… why drive all the way out there when there are Coles much closer to the east/north side of the city at Norwood, Prospect and Stepney.

I suspect as part of their sponsorship agreement, Coles nominate the stores they’d like to have shown on TV. Presumably the full service stores rather than your two-bit local suburban ex-Bilo that hasn’t seen a lick of paint in 20 years.

Remarkably, for their instant restaurant Kim and Soung did all their shopping at their local Asian grocery store. They did not set foot at Coles at all.

The night before the Tassie couple drove from Deloraine to the Northern suburbs of Launceston to Mowbray Coles it looked like despite there being a few others closer to them in Launceston or Devonport Coles would have also been a similar distance. The funny thing is, Woolies is right in the middle of Deloraine but they only have the one supermarket.
They also showed them driving along the Bass Highway to get to another shop in between which they wouldn’t have had to do if they were already in Launceston.

I saw a billboard in Brisbane last night which said next to a picture of a QLD couple, ‘REAL PEOPLE, REAL FOOD’.

Seriously, who do they think they’re kidding?

Last night’s instant restaurant with Dan and Gemma was the case in which too little sauce AND too much sauce was not enough. For the entree Manu criticised Dan for not soaking the fried chicken wings into the spicy sauce for a longer period (because Dan wrongly thought his guests would not tolerate the heat). For the main, Pete said the sauce was too sweet and sour. And when a large amount of sauce was poured on top of beef ribs it basically ruined the dish.
