The fourth judge being a guy was clearly evident from the judges promo released a few weeks ago
Certainly will be switching off the Australian Open. MKR promos are so cringeworthy
We know. We’ve heard you say it about a million times already. Move on.
I agree, I’ve thought for years that Seven’s corny promos, the type that appeal to bogans who watch Home & Away, actually turn potential viewers away.
Saw a new promo during Seven News this evening, which said three records would be broken in the next season. The clip is now up on Twitter
I reckon one of them will be the lowest score during the instant restaurant stage.
Season 8 premieres “Monday after the tennis” i.e. January 30, according to new promo shown tonight during Seven News.
Also, the first US celebrity version of MKR, with Curtis Stone and Cat Cora as judges, starts next Thursday (January 12) on Fox.

I haven’t heard of any of the “celebrities”.
I recognised three of the ten names. Beat that!
I only know of Lance Bass, from NSYNC and Brandy, who is also a singer.
All five main celebrities are all reasonably famous, probably more US related though.
Brandy’s brother Ray J is also a singer, but was also Kim Kardashian’s co-star in her debut feature
Naomi Judd is a legendary country singer as part of The Judds with Wyonna Judd
Andrew Dice Clay is a comedian
Brandi Glanville was a Real Housewife
Ray J in UK CBB at the moment as well
Really? I recognised 4/6 celeb names straight up which is good for a celeb cast show! Most are pretty well known names. Particularly Brandy is huge who has had multiple top 10 singles in Australia in the early 2000s. Ray J is the one who made Kim Karadashian famous with that tape plus like mentioned is also currently on UK Celeb Big Brother. Also funnily enough I was just watching the latest episode of Real Housewives of Beverley Hills last night and Brandi was on it as a guest appearance (she no longer on the permanent cast).
Clearly I’m way out of the loop.
I’ve heard of all them but they are all very B grade to D grade.
Better than J grade
At just eight episodes, VERY loosely based on the Australian show.
Not really. We all know the home restaurants rounds are the appeal of the show and the rest just drags on way too long. US reality shows don’t go on for multiple nights a week either so they might as well just focus on the good bit when testing it out for a first time. Plus our first season was short too (not that short, but much shorter than current seasons).
Not IMO. Last year it started with three sets of IRs and then the redemption round. 24 IRs in a row! It’s too much. Long before then I was desperate for them to get into the MKR kitchen or do some outdoor challenges. Just anything that’was different. It’s too IR-heavy now.
Australia = 48 episodes, US = 8 episodes.
Saw the first episode of US version this morning. The producers managed to squeeze in TWO instant restaurants within one hour (with ads)! Here Seven should at least keep each episode of instant restaurant within the hour without going 15-20 minutes overtime.
Also in the US version, the teams only had to create two courses and did not have to go shopping for ingredients on the day of cooking, which should mean less stress for them.
It was great to see an Australian company (Seven Productions Pty. Ltd.) and the big red Channel Seven logo at the end credits.
Otherwise the whole episode was pretty average.
