That didn’t stop them last time but thankfully they’ve seen sense this year. A lot of people have family gatherings or get-togethers with friends on that day and aren’t at home watching telly.
Have they mixed up the format this year with a Big Challenge episode followed by a Sudden Death Cook Off episode?
I thought they used to have weeks of Big Challenge episodes followed by weeks of Sudden Death Cook Off episodes. Or has it always been done like this? Whatever the case, I like the way it’s done now.
They are called “People’s Choice Challenge” and “Sudden-Death” (unless they’ve started calling them something else this year?).
They did the same last year with a team going home every second episode. In previous years they’ve done eliminations less frequently but it’s always been at least once per week.

Thanks, looks like they’ve tweaked it so that they keep the second half of the season more interesting because it did drag on a bit originally.
I felt one team was absent from tonight’s episode. In the sudden death cook-off, the two teams had to cook 12 plates each, one plate each for Pete, Manu, and ten other teams. But there were 13 teams competing in this round. Does anyone know which team did not appear?
Don’t they always just cook 12 plates in the elimination challenges. When all the judges are there everybody is seen sharing plates. Having said that neither Eve and Jason or Chris and Cookie made an impression on me tonight to remember seeing them.
There were 11 teams in the bleachers plus the two teams cooking = 13 teams.
So glad Carmine and Lauren weren’t eliminated. Nev and Kell had ran their race and weren’t going to get any better, plus an added bonus of them getting the boot is I’ll never have to hear the words ducks nuts again.

I was actually quite worried about Kell when she fell unwell towards the end of the first cooking challenge. Must be the heat and stress in the kitchen. I had a mixed feeling about Nev and Kell’s elimination, they had not shown their full protential yet, but I also wanted to see what would happen when Lauren clashed with Zana in the kitchen.
They’ve had so many chances and failed everytime. They deserved to be eliminated tonight really.

Did they just chuck a lengthy Olympics promo into MKR? The Prime7 watermark was on for the duration of it.

I don’t think the Olympics promo is part of MKR, it will be shown on other occasions as Rio Olympics come closer.

It wasn’t a part of the ad break, so technically it would be part of the show.
